My New Year's Resolution
2012 was a year of mediocrity. Only made two short films...both were failures. Served as writer on a feature documentary...completed and now looking for a sponsor for TV. The one high point was a film I wrote over two years ago won an Emmy for Best Historical documentary...but only a Midwest Regional Emmy. Not a REAL Emmy. Still, it's a start I suppose.
My 2012 resolution was to make it my Annus Mirabilis, like Einstein in 1905, or John Ford in 1939. That and I wanted to find a girlfriend.
Failed on both counts. But I tried.
2013 will be different. Or 2014. Every year will be the same resolution until I make it happen: make the year my annus mirabilis. Accomplish great things, and make up for so many failures and unfulfilled dreams. I'm 28, and many artists had already made their masterpieces and died by then. I have nothing to show for it, and will change that. I will achieve something positive and good and beautiful to give to the world!
I hope 2013 will be the year My goals toward accomplishing the annus mirabilis are: finish the novel I've started and seek publication opportunities. Start work on two feature length documentaries. Complete four new short films. Work on fundraising initiatives. Get closer to the goal of creative, financial and artistic independence.
Find a girlfriend...hopefully an artistic collaborator...someone as ambitious as I, who I can support and inspire, and she can do the same, so we can be a wonderful team of creative minds!
Work on financial investments and improve my running prowess and athletic build.
Forsake all other endeavors, social or otherwise, that do not further my goals and ambitions. Forsake all distractions. Spend no money that is not in furtherance of my goals. Dedicate all my energy to work and finding a girlfriend. Devote all time and energy to being positive achievements.
This is my resolution.
