I've been thinking of this lately, and I have to confess that I'm not interested in them at all. Mostly other people, whether aspies or NT's, are interested in things that are miles apart from my special interests. However, if there was a person who is interested precisely in what I am, I would still find them boring because their views would be theirs, not mine. My interests are my private territory and I don't let anyone enter this little universe.

I think it's kind of interesting to see what things other people on the autistic spectrum are drawn to. Obviously, the closer their interests are to my own, the more interesting I would probably find them. Some people's interests are not going to be very appealing to me at all (and I'm sure mine wouldn't be to them). But it is sort of interesting, yeah.

I'm very interested in the special interests in others both here on WP and in real life. Part of the reason I come here is to find out about the special interests of my fellow WP family members so that I can have a variety of things to talk about. :)

I like knowing if they have the same interests as me. Maybe we can talk about them. But then it would just probably be this weird selfish talking match thing going on. Neither really listening to each other but still talking lol. But others interests besides what I like I am not really interested in knowing unless they are weird, unusual, some sexual things, etc.

Sometimes I don't know how to get other people to talk about their special interests. Most seem unwilling to share.

Yes, I like learning about other people. Plus, asking what others are interested in gives me the opportunity to talk about what my interests are. :P

I find other people's interests to be... well... Interesting. I find it fascinating to know what other people are into because I like to try to imagine what it would be like if I were into it.

I also enjoy special interest threads for those reasons. :)

I'd be willing to share my Kinks interest more if people are willing to listen. If people are unwilling to listen, I can be pretty hush-hush about it. I also shouldn't let some 19 year old girl keep me from speaking my mind about my interests, either. I know that not all 19 year olds are bad.

I'm willing to listen to you talk about your Kinks interest. Just PM me when you feel like talking about it, OK? :)

I like your posts about the Kinks CR. Your posts aren't really long or anything.....I don't find them annoying and I think they show your character.

I think it's interesting that I read about kids with autism being interested in things like: trains, spinning things, rewatching parts of videos (which I do), engines, math...
My interests are mostly TV shows, books, England....

Although isn't books a broad interest. I sort of like reading textbooks. There are books on histories of railroads and what numbers of trains and things, textbooks for math and some on engines. Although if you liked both math and spinning things you could build a model railroad with a turntable although lining that up can be frustrating sometimes.
