I've had them there for over 15 years .. They don't even glow anymore. They're so stuck I can only average getting 3 off in one minute with a screw driver. Any idea's ?

actually, yes. You could try a blow dryer with an extension cord to soften the glue/backing. That would help make them more pliable. I'd be careful doing it from such heights, though.

smear some googone on them then let them sit you can get it autoparts stores and some super markets. Nail polish remover might work as well. Also go to a store that sells wallpaper they might have something to remove old wallpaper or stickers I forgot its name but it it blue I think. Also liquid dish soap might soften it up if you put a lot of it on then scrape it with a wide putty knife. If all these fail go to your local hardware store and ask them I garantee they have had other customers stumble in with the same problem.

was going to say that, although it might also dissolve any paint that might be on your sealing

I would like to have glow stars on my ceiling but mother wouldn't ever agree for me having such a decoration for it is for children :? Even twenty years ago she'd have said I'd damage the ceiling in this way.

I saw this thread and read it out to my husband who burst out laughing because he had exactly the same problem. He jokingly said "find a new place to live". He had them on his ceiling at home [i]forever/i]. I think his parents eventually just had the whole ceiling redone because it was such a hassle.

Can they really stop glowing? I thought once they glow, they don't run out of glow ever.

Vegetable oil on a cloth should dislodge them. I had a girlfriend that put those on my ceiling, but I think I left them there when I moved.

When they stopped glowing put a light to the star and it gets its shine back.

After 15 years you are going to have to repaint the ceiling anyway so it doesn't really matter what you do.

Hey I just wanted to give an update!! It's been a few years, but finally they're all off ! !! I'm ecstatic. One thing that must happen though, is vaccuming right after otherwise you'll have them all over your house. I ended up using a pocket knife and it took around 3 or 4 hours. Now I can paint ! !!
