What's your favourite fantasy race from Final Fantasy, D&D, LoTR and anything else like that? My favourite fantasy race is the Viera from the Final Fantasy series. I call them "bunny rabbit girls" because most of them are female and they look like bunnies. :D

probably the Ronso, in terms of FF games I've played. (the ones I've seriously played being VII, VIII, and X. Emulators irritate me, and I just couldn't get into IX for whatever reason. Then my PS2 esploded... but not before I had Yuna's sphere grid all filled up and had started filling in the empty spots.)

LotR? Hobbits. They're tiny, they don't use shoes, idunno. Its hard being "stealthy" when you're 6 ft 1 and around 210. I suppose I envy them. And the whole no shoes thing would be convenient.

No, wait, change that first part, whatever race Red XIII was from FFVII. That'd be the overall. Well, "race," species, whatever.

(<.< >.> look at my user name.... now re-read the last sentence.... now look at my user name...)

Now I just have to figure out how to explain to people that a tattoo of XIII on my left upper arm isn't there because I'm trying to be "cool" by getting a tattoo of the number 13, and "cooler" by having it in roman numerals... I think that's the last step I have to take care of before I actually get it. Then again, the first one took about a year and a half time to make absolutely sure it was what I wanted.

Gotta love the Viera, the Irish tint in their speech makes them awesome.

But favorite, eh? I'm not one to pick favorites, but I think I'd have to go with Moogles from Final Fantasy. No matter what form they come in, they're useful, awesome, and cute as hell. And they've got such tiny little fingers in XII! How can you not love that?

LotR, I'd say elves. They're refined and have a deep and interesting culture, and they embrace the natural world around them rather than trying to change it.

I also really like the Zora from Legend of Zelda. They're fish-people, and if I could be anything, that's probably what I'd choose.

It's too bad I can't use Arion races, because then I'd have a much wider, yet more focused, selection to choose from. Oh well, whatever; I guess I'll go with Zora as my favorite for now.

LOTR: Hobbits. Here's Bilbo's description from the Extened Edition of Fellowship of the Ring:

Hobbits have been living in The Shire for a long time. Our ways a simple, and other only think that we have a tasting for food, but he have also grown a considerable taste for the brewing of ales and the smoking of pipeweed. And we have also developed a love for things that grow. But where our hearts truly lie is in peace and quiet. Hobbits are not considered to be brave or adventerous, not counted among the very wise. And no doubt to others our ways seem simple and quaint, but it is no bad thing to celebrate a simple existince.

Sounds like my kind of lifestyle! I also like Renons, which is a species I came up with. They are short (never getting higher than a human's shoulder), have blue fur, round heads with large anime-like eyes, cupped and pointy ears, large blob-like feet and of course, a tail. Here's a picture of two of them of them (the left one's a girl and the right one a guy, note the ears):

Could you elaborate a bit more? For instance, where on their body does the fur grow? Is it like human hair, or actual animal fur? And if the latter, what kind of animal? Also, since you can't see it very well, what kind of tails do they have? Does the tail differ between individuals, or do they each have the same kind? Nice pic, btw.

Sorry about the prying, I'm just really weird about these things. And if we're allowed to use races we've designed ourselves, my favorite would either be the Akki or Coriscians.

Akki are descendant from demons who were offered salvation: a chance to live their lives on the earth among mankind. They have a very strict code that dictates how they live, though only full-blooded Akki are subject to it. They have a deep reddish-brown skin tone, and tend to be somewhat taller and more muscular than humans. Their eyes can be bright yellow or red, and their pupils are almond-shaped. Most have clawed fingers, and some have clawed toes as well. They have very little hair besides that on their heads, a result of the hellish flames their ancestors lived amongst. In fact, many go bald or choose to shave their heads in honor of their ancestry. They may have any number of bone-like protrusions growing from their body, the most common being horns. Very rarely, they have bull-like tails or hooves. Their culture is reminiscent of feudal Japan, with constant warring across their mountainous homeland and lifestyles heavily influenced by their customs.

Coriscians are a race from the planet Ythlfur, third from the sun in galaxy AP327 (Flamma) which is known for abnormally high temperatures as a result of the sun's size. Coriscians bear a resemblance to a variety of animals, having horse-like ears, a dog-like muzzle, a humanoid figure, talon-like hands, and the tail and scales of a lizard. They are the most widespread race on Ythlfur, outnumbering the Anjin almost 12 to 1. They have a superior physical structure, making them excellent physical laborers. Their tail, though lizard-like in appearance, is fully prehensile, and they have been known to use it as a sort of third arm. Their eyes are somewhat larger than those of a human, and the color range is much more vast. They are completely hairless, though some who have reached a position of power have wigs made specially for them.

Sorry, I like long-winded explanations

Why not combine the two? Fangio vs Schumacher, racing Routemasters, through London.
Except for the fact that Fangio's been dead for, what, 20 years now, that'd be awesome.
If I had to go with living drivers, I'd go Schumacher v Raikkonnen. Or, for more excitement, a 3-way, Schumacher v Nigel Mansell v Jacques Villeneuve.
Deceased drivers I'd go with Fangio v Jim Clark v Gilles Villeneuve or Ayrton Senna.
All in Routies.
