Okay... I don't know if this is the right forum for this topic, maybe it should be in the Women's Discussion, but this is something I think I need to tell everyone about. but I read the other day that some "wonderful" people had put pages containing some really horrible, woman-hating "humor" about rape and killing and abuse towards women and even showing equally hateful pictures on FB. And people reported it and yet Facebook did nothing, and now several companies have even pulled their ads (temporarily most likely) of FB. (I guess there is a silver lining in this cloud). The other day I was saying online about North American society overreacting to everything, but the other day I was in a very foul mood (it was my time of month, but that's no excuse) and I started ranting on FB, calling it FAILbook and how just when I start to feel bad for guys or think they're okay, they do something like this! I think most censorship is stupid, but if not wanting to see anything online that is abusive, bullying, hateful towards people because of their race, gender, age or sexual orientation is censorship is that "wrong" too? It seems to me that people only go on about the right to free speech after they have totally abused that right. I know most people are using their computer as a shield to say horrible things they wouldn't have the guts to someone's face, but I also know people will hate no matter what we do. So apparently anything and everything I find offensive is wrong (like swearing and graphic violence) and things I don't find offensive (like seeing a horse's penis but they blurr it out on TV, which is so like... OMG do we need to "Lorena Bobbit" male horses in real life so people won't be offended?!?) is wrong, too? Nothing makes sense any more...
