I'm thinking about going to the Virgin Islands next spring but I'm not sure which one I want to go to. I'm leaning more towards the U.S side but I'm not sure which side is better...the UK or the U.S. Also, I'm not sure which island to choose from. Has anybody been to the Virgin Islands and could you please tell me the different characteristics of each island?

I've been to three, all on the US side. St Maarten, St Thomas, and St John.

St John has the most popular beaches, St Maarten has the most variety in the straw markets, and St Thomas has the most things to do.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, I'm kind of leaning towards St. Thomas. Do they have any all inclusive resorts there?

I think so. I'd do a little more research on that if I were you.

The thing about St Thomas is that there's a major port where cruise ships come in, so you might want to think about his that will affect you if you go.

I've been to the US and British Virgin Islands.

Really enjoyed St. John's.

Visited Anegada of the British Virgin Islands and had the best lobster and ribs.

Never been there, but I know St Maarten has that wicked flight approach path where the planes land just inside the beach. So cool. It's like you can almost reach up and touch the wheels.
And some people subject themselves to the engine exhaust when they take off. Not sure that would be me :)

The BVIs are meant to be less developed.
