Anyone else obsessed with listening to the radio show? I haven't seen the movie, but have been warned that it is disappointing. I always feel sad when the show is over because it makes Sundays fun at work to listen to it.

Just wondering what everyone's favorite skits are? I like the ketchup skits, Lefty & Dusty and News from Lake Wobegone. I mainly loathe the music intermissions unless they have a good bluegrass group.

Are people outside the US able to tune into the show??

I've listened to it a few times.

I think it was back in 1999, though.

Wow that was a long time ago Tim. I just learned about it about a year ago when a friend at work introduced me to the program.

It was only like 2 or 3 times though.

I love that show because its soo true to the Upper Midwest and its very funny. However, I like most of the shows due by NPR.

My father always had it on when I was visiting him over the weekends, so I grew up listening to it-took me awhile to actually "come back to" the show as an adult. I dislike the music & singing, though some of the humor songs are tolerable-wish I could get edited "text-only audio version" of show. Haven't tuned in recently, but for several years I did so regularly.
From what I've heard, I don't think I'd like the PHC movie. I have enjoyed Garrison Keillor's "The Writer's Almanac" on public radio, weekday mornings-and a few of his books.
What I like: the political satires, celebrity impressions, and "hand-made" sound effects. The fake ads: Ketchup's natural "calming" agents/properties & "Pharma" Jones brand placebo pills-imported from Canada. The adventures of a rotating group of underappreciated intellectuals: the librarian/art student/english major/etc. The middle-aged married couple who are in their bedroom & the dog, the son, or the dead grandfather (or father-in-law) keep interrupting them.
The story from Lake Wobegon portion of show is more often a hit rather than a miss, though it takes more sustained attention than one is used to needing in these modern times.
I quite like many NPR (and other affiliates') programs-especially "This American Life" !

I used to listen to Todd & Tyler back in Nebraska. I loved it when they sang the "Devil Went Down To Yutan" song.

Just once, and I thought it was irritating.

AFRN sometimes carries it. I've had to pull off the road listening to the show because I was laughing so hard. The skit was a "Summer Solstice Ritual".
Enjoy WJ

I get yelled at by coworkers because I will laugh at a lot of the skits on PHC. And also I will chuckle throughout Car Talk and The Puzzler on NPR. My job allows me to plug into my mp3 player all day while I work and most of my other co-workers doing different job don't have that luxury. So they will say "What are you laughing about?!" One girl even thought I was laughing at her.

I really liked the Lefty and Dusty skit yesterday where Lefty said the closest this other guy had ever been to a real horse is opening a can of dog food!
