Why do we eat cows' teat squirtings in solid form? Cheese is amazing, but it's often covered in mould, smells like sweaty feet, and looks like a gigantic deposit of snot.

humans are weird

discuss

also it's not true that eating too much cheese gives you nightmares. it's an urban myth

I don't eat cheese because I'm vegan (for 6 years now) but I used to like it, so I voted yes.
But I agree, cheese is weird.

Cheese is great. I just cooked vegetarian spaghetti bolognaise last night and grated cheese on it. Mmmmmmmm..

Some cheese does taste great, I cannot disagree with you there. But it is mysterious, much like elves, crop circles, and Tom Cruise. Maybe the reason why it's so good is because it's clothed in mystery. :chef::chef: I'm surprised there isn't a cheese religion somewhere in the Big Encyclopedia of Weird But Probably Cool Religions.

And tripe...*spew*

:eew:

Same reasons we eat mushrooms and yeast-raised bread - because non-animal organisms are often delicious. Some people call it umami, a rich complex flavour.

Cheese was essential for survival way back when, and we just never kicked the habit.

Also... I love cheese but it doesn't love me.

The poll results are looking good :) 7 people like cheese, nobody dislikes it. All the Japanese members must be in bed atm.

It will if you talk to it nicely.

I used to love cheese. Cheddar cheese. ... sharp cheddar cheese. And I still prefer it to all other cheeses but I've been told over and over again that it's 'bad' for me. So I don't eat it nearly as much as I used to. And like most things I like and all things I dislike my intestines dislike cheese. Of course my intestines dislike chocolate and milk too but that hasn't completely stopped me from eating chocolate. I use dairy products (I sound like a cat) and chocolate to self medicate myself as dairy in large amounts causes one kind of upset and chocolate in large amounts causes an opposite effect (it's genetic as my aunt has the same upset from too much chocolate). I'm a little strange.

I don't care much for cheese itself, but I do love macaroni and cheese. :)
