Does anybody else like posting to make their post count number go up? And do they like to post random things just to have an excuse to do so? (I'm talking about the "Say something boring and pointless" and "Got anything random to say" threads.) I mean don't get me wrong, I like to contribute and try and say something useful, but I just love making posts to satisfy my unusual "Counting Upwards" quirk that I have had most of my life.

So I need to know so that I don't feel crazy: Are there people on this website that like expanding their post count?

Oh, but you still have only 908 posts before you get the answer

Once I noted the progression of bird names according to post count it gave me something to aspire to, and now it's like when I reached over 10,000 Coke Rewards points - they haven't offered any decent prizes in a long while but people of our sort seem to always have to be collecting something

Short answer, when you get over 1000 posts you get to make a custom rank. And not be bound to bird names... (I hate birds) :x

I don't think you have to contribute useful messages all the time. You just say what you want to say in a given thread, which some may find useful but some others may not. If you want your count up, Off the Wall subforum may have some threads where you can post very quick short messages many times.

I did it at first, but it got to be too much like work trying to keep up.

Actually there's an option to edit your custom rank without having to get to 1000 posts and I saw someone with less than 1000 that did so.

But when I tried to edit mine it just took me to my avatar page. (Which I have never been able to figure out how to make work by the way :?)

As someone who has been really into online games I can relate to the feeling of wanting a higher post count.

For me, when I was playing games, the higher level I was the more "powerful" I felt. A higher post count would mean that you've been here longer and it would be easier to assume that you must have made friends here.

Behold the totals of Tallyman, and of CockneyRebel, and even of the new upstart Equestria2La ( whose per day total beats out even cockneyrebel), and....abandon all hope!

You will never catch up!

I DO THAT SAME THING! My favorite types of games are the ones where characters level!

When I was a lot younger I played my Pokemon games. I loved getting more and more experience points.

I know. I see ones that are like super high and I wonder how do they even MAKE them get like that? They must spend a whole lot of time here. Or maybe been here for years.

I don't really care if someone is higher than me. I don't feel like racing them. It's just not important. I just like watching mine grow.
