dang, I love this subject. I adore playing with words.
I have had many many cats (mostly fostering) over the years and have a huge collection of whiskers that I've found on rugs or beds. I have developed 'a whisker eye' that allows me to pick out the whisker image from a rug pattern that no one else can see. So I am a bit obsessed with the things. When I spy a pine needle on my deck, I call out, "tree whisker!"
When I drop something (often, as I have arthritic hands) and it makes a loud noise hitting the floor, I say , "ClangDeCrangDang!" as if I am celebrating the noise or maybe using humor to deflect the fact that it happens more often than I'd like.
Now that I think of it, I find it similar to one of my favorite phrases from Calvin and Hobbes, when the dad drops something on his toe and what comes out of his mouth is "slippin rippin dang fang rotten zarg barg ding-dong."
