Is that two awards? I've spelt your username right once before, earlier today.
Anyhoo, off that topic. This is what your sister must remember:
*Preparation: You have to be a
very high level in order to have
any chance of beating Sephiroth. As in 70's to 90's. Having done as much synthesizing as possible helps, especially if you can synthesize the Ultima Weapon, as well as Power Ups and Defence Ups. (Magic Ups aren't vital) Choose the best accesories and armour that can bestow the best AP, Defense and Strength.
*Moves: To free up AP, get rid of moves like "Lucky, Lucky" and "Draw". Vital abilties (which should be on anyway) should include "Leaf Bracer", "Second Chance", "Aerial Spiral", and any Drive form abilities you have learned. You may be able to use the Trinity Limit alone, but the single attack you can do, "Break", consumes your MP, and you should save it for emergencies. "MP Haste/Hastera/Hastega" are must-haves ("MP Hastega" is an innate ability of Ultima Weapon), as is "MP Rage". "Aerial Recovery" is also a good bet
*Magic: Cure is a must. Reflect can be used against Sephiroth's Shadow Flare and Flame Pillar (see "Sephiroth's Attacks" below). If possible, assign Hi-Potions (or if you have a good supply, Elxirs) to a shortcut, and maybe Ethers to another shortcut. Magic spells don't work on Sephiroth.
*Sephiroth's Attacks:
(Note, he often does a series of physical attack combos. These can occasionally be countered by Sora's own swings, so even if you are knocked into the air, you can still fight back. He also tends to teleport around the arena)
Flash: (aka Zantetsuken, my title) Sephiroth
always does this at the start of a fight, and does it at occasional intervals. The screen darkens, he says "That's enough", and races forward, a series of delayed slashes hitting Sora. Thankfully, if you're on the ground when this happens, you can block it with a Reaction Command (you know, with the Triangle button).
Flame Pillar: A modified version of an attack Sephiroth used in
Kingdom Hearts I, he yells "Perish, now!" and sends up a series of flame columns that can suck Sora in. Run away. If you can, cast a Reflect spell if you're close to getting sucked in, as I heard that it can send the attack on Sephiroth, harming him.
Shadow Flare: After enough HP has been lost by Sephiroth, he'll start using this move, which summons balls of dark energy that surround Sora and try to hit him. Not as damaging as some moves, but can be a pain. Try either avoiding the balls (they track Sora to a degree), or using Reflect (I have confirmed this). He often says "Give in to the dark", but you'll usually see the Shadow Flare occurring at the same time.
Heartless Angel: He'll teleport to part of the arena, start to float into the air, and say "Descend, Heartless Angel". If he completes the spell, Sora will lose all MP and his HP is reduced to 1. You can interrupt this if you're quick, by jumping high into the air near Sephiroth ( a lock-on's great) and use aerial combos to reach him and knock him out of it. If there's no time, prepare to use a healing item ASAP. He likes to perform Flash after this.
Meteor: After a certain point, Sephiroth will float into the air, and say something. This will not be "Descend, Heartless Angel" but something else. He will be unreachable, and he will start causing Meteors to fall from the sky. Run back and forth to avoid getting hit too much.
*General battle layout:
Part 1: Sephiroth will start with a Flash, then try using combos on you. He'll occasionally use another Flash. I
think he may use Flame Pillar here, but I'm uncertain.
Part 2: After about 3.5 HP bars have been depleted, he will make a comment, (I think it's "No more playing") and start bringing out Heartless Angel and Shadow Flare. He also attacks faster and uses teleporting more often. This is a difficult part of the fight, but persist. If you make it through this, you probably will make it through....
Part 3: After he has a few HP bars left, the screen wil darken, but he will merely start to become covered with dark energy. He becomes even more vicious, and uses Meteor (once only, as far as I know). However, if you keep your wits about you, you will beat him.
