Some as*hole threw a rock at my bedroom window 2nite

The window in my bedroom which is upstairs & that window has an AC unit in it. I heard this loud bang sound from it shattering a hole that sounded like a gunshot. I wasn't sure if anyone shot it so I called 911 & a couple cops showed up 5minutes latter. The rock broke the outer window but thankfully not the inner one & it's still logged in the hole in outer one. The cops said it could of been someone randomly throwing a rock sense I'm not aware of anyone being mad at me & none of my neighbors called. They asked if I heard people walking but I was on computer with my headphones on so I didn't. The only way it could of gotten up there is by someone throwing it sense it's upstairs & the AC unit is sticking out abit. I apologized for wasting the cops time but they said that's something they wanted to be made aware of. They asked who the property management was & the investigating officer gave me his card with the case number written on the back to give to property management incase they want it for insurance or anything. The cops were interested in my chinchilla; one knew what it was & they were nice enough but they were only here about 5minutes. My girlfriend is spending the weekend with her parents; she left today & won't be back till Tuesday. Her cellphone doesn't get service there so we've been emailing & this happened after she said she was going to bed so I emailed her & won't here back till tomorrow(but it's 4am here now so maybe I shouldn't say tomorrow). I'm OK; just alittle shaken up & I took a Klonopin to help calm me down a tad. I'm keeping a knife next to me & will put it under the pillow when I go to bed just incase it's a crazy who actually is more dangerous than throwing a rock. I just thought about taking the Klingon bat'leth down that's hanging on the wall between between the two bedrooms for display purposes; the cops didn't say anything about it so maybe that's a good thing. I'm almost sue it was just random but I feel I should take precautions just to be safer or feel safer rite now. I guess I'll be up at least a couple more hours than I was intending to be tonight. On the bright side me & my girlfriend were talking a couple days ago about how we should take the AC down soon & that it would be difficult due to the weight & size & how difficult it was for us to put it in place; now I can have maintenance help take it down when they fix the window; we have to leave it because the open window is blocking the whole & rock that's in the top one; better that window than the other one in my bedroom I sleep in my girlfriend's bedroom

I just don't know what to say, other than people are weird.

I think you mean people are bad & destructive. Helloween was over a week ago so I cant think of any good/appropriate reasons for anyone to be doing that except for being mean & not giving a blank about others property.

I had an email from my girlfriend when I woke up. I didn't sleep the best last night but I haven't been sleeping great lately & & don't sleep as good when my girlfriend isn't here but I'm doing OK today

It's most likely some destructive bored teenagers.What an annoying thing to do.

Maybe they were drunk and thought it was somebody else's window.

I've had 2 different boyfriends climb up onto my front porch roof and knock on my bedroom window at 3 a.m. while they were drunk. Both times they scared the crap out of me and I didn't look out and see who it was because I was afraid it'd be some rapist with a gun, so I called the police.

That's exactly what I meant.

I sometimes hear people passing on the sidewalk that sound drunk & they could of thought this was somebody else s apartment(these are townhouse apartments & there's neighbors rite next to me on both sides so it could be easy to get confused) but I think they were trying to break the window instead of throwing it to get someone's attention because the windows are fairly durable so the rock would need a lot of force behind it to break it like that.
