Hi. I’m Michael. I'm on the Autism Spectrum and was diagnosed late in life at 39 (per the DSM-IV, I was classified as having Asperger Syndrome). On my Youtube channel, Mr Snayl’s Wild Ride, I post weekly videos where I frequently describe my perceptions and experiences of life on the spectrum (except this time, sort of).

This episode was unusual in that I reviewed a book I read recently*. Though I am not usually a big fan of self-help type books, I found that this was NOT your usual self-help type book. It had a profound impact on me personally, and has helped me break a lifelong pattern around resistance to, well, practically everything!

Various lessons from the book have also helped me to form some healthy habits around a new undertaking -- another lifelong challenge that, in the past, has been nearly impossible to avoid or overcome. Needless to say: spoiler alert -- I liked the book.

Take a minute look at my review and let me know what you think (helpful, interesting, irritating, entertaining, whatever). It would mean a lot if you'd be willing to SUBSCRIBE to my channel and/or click the LIKE button on the video, too.

I would likewise be interested to hear opinions about the book from other folks on the spectrum, so if anyone decides to check it out, please let me know what you think.

Thanks!

* I have had a hard time reading much of anything for several years, but this particular book (1) was a 3-hour audiobook, which is very short by audiobook standards (about 165 pages in paperback); (2) came along at a very opportune time in my life, which I talk about in the video; and (3) was part of a prompt from Hannah Hart as part of her Walking Book Club on YouTube -- if you're curious about the context of my reading the book in the first place, her introductory video is here, and her meta-review (humblebrag: she mentions my review) is here.
