Is there anyone who likes to discuss these topics? I'd like to talk one on one with people. If so, send me a message or an email: [email protected]

I apologize if this is taking up unnecessary space or is in the wrong section!

This is a favoured topic area of mind -- almost, but not quite, a Special Interest -- so I would be glad to talk to you about it here. We could go PM/Email at a later stage, if you like -- I prefer to converse out in the open unless a topic is getting very personal.

Alright, how do you feel about mirrors?

Well, um, they're OK I suppose.

Never really thought of them in an occult/religious/metaphysical way though.

How about you?

Not sure I think of them as supernatural, but can be used certain ways to cause a mental experience.

One example being a Psychomanteum

My friend and I have contemplated them as portals. We have also wondered about time and if you look into a mirror it's actually you like, seconds in the future. I have nothing to support this theory, just ponderings. I think mirrors also offer a feeling of always being watched because it seems to me that most people can't help but look at themselves when they are near a mirror.

Mirrors were much darker originally. As far as I know their original use was part of ritual.

Mirrors can be used to reflect and direct bad luck and spells away from your home. They can also be used in a similar way to protect the home and property from evil spirits.

A mirror can also be used for scrying, like water and a crystal ball. If you want to use a mirror for scrying it needs to be charged under the light of the full moon. Which full moon can depend on how soon you need the mirror or if you want to use it for only a certain type of scrying.

Have you ever read a fantasy novel called "Mirror of Her Dreams"? It's got a fun premise about mirrors as portals. It's by Stephen R. Donaldson.

I thought I saw someone vanish when I was clothes-shopping with my mom as a little kid. Turned out I was seeing a reflection as she was walking by a mirror. She was on the other side of the store and when she passed the mirror, she walked out of the reflection .

People would cover mirrors when someone has died because if you see your reflection with the dead person supposedly you will die next. There is also a superstition about placing them on walls that are exterior, that they can be used as a passage way.Once when I was a kid we were going to do the Bloody Mary thing but an adult stopped us.They are used a lot in love spells, you will see your mate in the mirror.Supposedly.
Another weird superstition is to set in a church at midnight on a certain day,you are suppose to see those that are going to die in the coming year, but you might see yourself.
You can also use a bowl of water like a mirror. But it has to be from a natural source, like a well or spring, nothing that has been in pipes.
