Anybody get annoyed by TV shows that don't make sense.

One of mine was the Road Runner cartoon. When you cut a branch of a tree, the branch falls down, not the tree. That bird should be dead! I felt like breaking the TV it was so stupid.

What always got me was how did a family with 6 kids get along so well. (Brady Bunch)

I actually like it when things don't make sense in TV. They never do in real life either, anyway, so that makes it more realistic

I don't have a problem with cartoons that don't make sense. It's just entertainment.

Ah ha. But it was only half an hour of edited snippets throughout the whole day. The other 23½ hours they were trying to kill each other. The magic of editing.

Especially when all 6 kids have to share the same bathroom, and it doesn't have a toilet in it. What kind of architect was the father anyway?

I share a bathroom with only three other people and it's amazing how often I have to go at the exact same time as someone else (or even worse, when someone else is taking a bath...) :?

I was in a house of 8 kids for a while as a child (my dad hooked up with an awful woman with 7 kids). We all had to share the same bathroom. The toilet was an outhouse and i learnt to become more friendly with nature.

It is a cartoon, and a funny one too.

It is not supposed to make sense.

That is what makes it funny.

(If you want to see more stuff that doens't make sense, try searching for "cartoon logic" and find loads of stuff that doesn't make sense to agree on, and to laugh at too).

If you're one of us that never played with their toys, as soon as you got them you pulled them apart to see how they worked. That would be funny as in having needles driven through your eye balls.

That's actually another thing. When they started glueing toys together instead of screwing them together. That was so annoying. Don't get me started.

Another one that used to get me was Play School. Every morning in kindergarten they used to torture us with that. “Hello Jemima. Hello Big Ted.” That was over 40 years ago and it's still burnt in the back of my brain. If I was an hysterical person I would have run screaming.

I suppose I should be grateful as it's gotten a lot worse since then. Now they have Tele Tubies. I'm an adult and have no idea what that's about. I caught my ASD son watching it once. He was standing their totally motionless, not even blinking, staring at it. I thought I was going to have to throw a blanket over him before he hit overload and had a nose bleed. “It's ok son. That's just one of those sick things that humans do that doesn't make any sense. Just keep telling yourself... It don't mean nothing... It don't mean nothing...”

I'm sorry, but I just had to post this. Because there actually is a bit of a meaning behind it.

Yes, most TV shows, (especially cartoons), don't make sense. If everything were logical all the time, people would easily get bored after awhile.

For example, there are several plot-holes in the current season of Total Drama, but we still watch it, anyway. Like... Just how was Scott able to "magically" heal from a shark mauling in just a year? Realistically, that kind of thing would never happen... It's just that some shows/cartoons happen to rely on that kind of humor.

It's nice to have some randomness every once in awhile.

There was an episode of Big Bang Theory where they went to the North Pole. The story goes that the heater broke and they had to huddle together naked to conserve body heat until the morning, when they could fix it. It's the North Pole. The sun is up for about 6 months straight.

Oh yes … The night the heat went out. (wink wink)
