It seems like being on the computer is all I do most days. Sometimes it's hard to stop watching twitter scroll. Sometimes it's all I do for 12+ hours, day after day. Reading news articles is one of my special interests.

And some days I do a lot of surveys for 12+ hours, but I'm almost always on my laptop. It's hard to stop myself, especially after doing it for 8+ hours. Anyone else with similar experiences?

I solved it by getting a job in IT :p Why not get paid for it?

My current distraction is reloading WrongPlanet every 5 minutes...

IT job FTW. It will make you tired of computers in your spare time on physically inable to handle doing it as a job and recreation full time.

I can really say the exact amount of hours I spend a day on the computer, but I do spend a lot of time on the computer. If I'm going out early, I switch it on when I come home in the afternoon, and I'm on it most of the time right up until I go to bed. Then if I'm not going out anywhere, I switch it on the minute I get up and it's literally on all day, to the minute I go to bed. I'm not necessarily on it every waking second of the day, but I am on it so much that it's not worth turning it off if I'm not going out anywhere.

It depends on the day, actually. Some days I hardly spend any time on the computer. For me that means around 5 hours. Some days though, I probably spend 12-18 hours on the computer. This is usually when I am bored, depressed, lonely, despondent, and have nothing else that needs my attention.

I spend the majority of my waking hours in front of my computer. I pretty much only stop in order to spend time with my family or get some exercise. In addition, I rarely ever leave the house. If I lived by myself I would probably be in front of the computer non-stop.

I am there most of the day; again, I am not on when I need to get out and do something, or I am at a con.

This. I study computer science and a lot of my time is spent programming stuff. I have VERY little interests in playing computer games or browsing Wikipedia at the end of the day.

You can't log off because of autistic inertia. Try getting a smart phone, then you can check your Twitter feed every 5 minutes while still getting out into the world to do things.

I used to be on it all the time but with moving in the house and all, I have not been on the computer much. I hope it stays that way. I use the computer now when I am taking a break or have time and I am not on it long when I do use it.

A lot of my time is usually spent on the computer as I don't go out much. I do end up having to go out eventually though as after a certain amount of time, my mood will be lowered due to lack of outside stimulants.

I used to be obsessed with doing things on computer & I would barely eat some days because I didn't want to be in the kitchen eating because I would be off the computer for that. I got a job & work took the place of computer when I was at work & I would work longer hours & come in on one of my off days when management would let me. I started spending alot of time on comp again after I quit working but my girlfriensd became my obsession & the medication I'm on for OCD is helping me from getting as obsessed with things as I used to. I do spend a lot of time on comp sometimes but I'm not obsessed with it & it's not interfering with my life or anything; it's more like a filler

Definitely my problem. But what else sh do when I am currently unemployed, live in a country and have no money to go shopping, to the cinemas, bars, pubs or other places? :( It is a substitute for the non-existent life (in general). I meet people at least on the internet.

I have a few hobbies that get me away from the computer--gardening, assembling jigsaw puzzles, throwing darts...

addictions are real. and a person can become addicted to the internet I know I am. Just on this message board alone I've been here for years and have tried to leave and can't. I've had addictions that were deadly so I had to quit those, but I would say unless your time online is a hazard to your health I wouldnt worry about it too much

everything in moderation.
