Well I better get off my butt and head to the beer store, you can't be dry on this day, that's just wrong. As soon as I get my coffee buzz going I'm off to get some beer and get my beer buzzy going. It'll have to be Guinness, nothing else will do on this day.

^^^^I think I'll make that later,I have some fresh green onions.I'm going to pick up a corned beef and a head of cabbage. Most people here like to plant potatoes on this day,but it snowed yesterday and the ground is too wet.I'm just waiting on the plumber to leave.

That's an Irish-American tradition rather than being specifically Irish (corned beef and cabbage is not an Irish dish). I would have said that St. Patrick's Day is more Irish-American. :)

In fact, the entire revival of St. Patrick's Day was by Irish immigrants in the U.S., which was then re-exported to Ireland.

Something I realized this morning:

Pinching someone just because they're not wearing a certain color to celebrate a holiday they most likely don't know why they should be celebrating in the first place: Socially acceptable, not rude at all.

Not making eye contact: Not socially acceptable, considered rude.
