My mom and I might be starting an eBay store with stim toys and other things for autistic people. I'd like your opinions on stim toys that you guys like, and what you've found most helpful.

I remember seeing these flooring tiles that changed colour when you stepped on them. Those were pretty cool, but expensive.

I think those multicoloured rope lights are pretty cool too.

By the way - don't sell on eBay.

Why shouldn't we sell on eBay? We can't afford to do anything else.

My dad's been a successful Ebay seller for about 10 years.

This, I sold on there for over a year for a living. I had over 2500 feedback, all of which was positive (100%). All my DSR ratings were 4.8+ and I was a top-rated seller and then one day my account was permanently banned based on a risk assessment (everything I was selling was in the electronics category)

F*CK eBay and F*CK PayPal, they're fascist spineless b*stards who ruined my livelihood for no apparent reason other than some sh*tty algorithm that doesn't work properly.

^ Ouch, that's crappy. Did you consider opening up a shop via your own website?

honeyaureus, I just say that because there are a lot of nasty customers out there who WILL try and fob you off. There are also lots of people who are attracted to eBay because they see it as somewhere cheap. They have no manners, they are rude, and they will keep asking you to reduce your prices or end your bidding early.

Should anything bad happen - on eBay or any other bidding site, or Amazon, will likely believe the customer to be right rather than the seller. Also, sellers are not allowed to give negative feedback for a customer, which gives buyers even more power. And, especially if you're just starting out selling - one or two negative feedbacks looks bad.

By far the best stimming toy I've ever stimmed with is a non-newtonian fluid. Try selling that.

Fair points about the dangers of selling on eBay. This has never happened to me when I've sold things but I've heard that some buyers will receive their item and then claim it never came. eBay and Paypal force the seller to give a refund. Even if something gets lost in the mail that's considered the sellers responsibility.
Sellers will sometimes have a disclaimer saying if the buyer doesn't choose insured postage it's their risk but eBay won't hold to that.

Also (this one has happened to me) some sellers will complain you used cheaper postage than the postage cost in the listing when really it's just because when you listed the item you didn't know which part of the country the buyer would come from so you estimated.
