Do You ever miss Your childhood?

Sometimes I just feel a little nostalgic for my childhood, even though it was only in the 2000s, times seemed simpler, the internet didn't seem that big when I was a kid in 2005, I would always be sat in drawing and playing with my action figures, people would sleep over and we would play together on the PS2, just care free and being innocent kids not worrying about a thing, how I regret I didn't appreciate as much as I could have, teenage hood, although interesting, has brought the innocence out of me.

Any of You ever feel like You just want Your childhood back?

I want my childhood back all the time, although with some changes. I wasn't diagnosed with ASD until I was 25, and I think that knowing this earlier in my life would have made it easier. I was consistently bullied and excluded as a child. I'm consistently bullied and excluded now, but I don't have anyone to tell me it will all get better that I believe. I don't think it will for me. My husband tries all the time to reassure me, but the difference is that I think he's full of it and just trying to be helpful. Once upon a time I really believed my parents and my extended circle of adults when they told me that life would improve. I miss having hope. I miss having no or little responsibility. I miss having uncomplicated friendships. I completely understand how you feel.

On the other hand, I think that internet is a great tool for people who are different. There's so much love and support out there if you know where to look for it.

I don't think that anyone appreciates their childhood as much as they should. No matter what it's like, you just want to grow up.

it was so good, I didn't have all this stress and responsibilities, I had all the free time and used it to freely create things and read about anything I was interested in and discovered thousands of fascinating worlds.
at the same time I would be annoyed to go back to being a child because children don't have opinions or wishes, adults just order us around (I don't think this expression exists but it works fine for what I want to express) and the peers would be boring. in my age we have more possibilities and individualism, I dare to say as a child we don't exist as a person.
what I really wanted was to live in a parallel world where I would be an independent adult with all the free time in the world to do whatever I wanted to, also in this dimension the world would be as magical as I thought it was when I was a child.

All the time, my life was perfect from birth to 16. From age 16-20 I have been the most restless, unhappy soul alive.

The only think I like about the my childhood was the music (it was during the 1960s-1970s). I never liked being a kid; I always wanted to be an adult. My childhood, except for some fleeting moments, was rather unhappy.

Yeah, I very much miss my childhood, and I wish so much that I could revisit it, and preferably relive my life knowing what I know now about a lot of things. Avoided some pitfalls, done better....

But yeah, I miss the good old days of the 80's and 90's. All the time.

Sometimes. Although after a lot of what I've been through, I don't miss it all that much, but I am guilty of somewhat reliving my childhood in the mid to late 80s (I was born in 1985)

And how I do that, especially in December, I play with my toy cars from my early childhood (Hotwheels, Matchbox, etc.), play with my non electric HO Scale T&S trains (Cobblestone Corner Railways) that sort of reminds me of the G scale non electric train set I had during my early childhood; with black HO scale crossing signals, the black signals based on those black railroad crossing signals with a black railroad crossing sign with gold or copper letters and red and green light bulbs among other signals; wooden red and white striped A-frame (or wishbone) gates, based on the real ones I saw back in Gary
Indiana, my hometown.
Also listening to Club Nouveau, Michael Jackson from his days in the Jackson 5 up through his BAD album, and other music that existed prior to my birth and during the first four years of my life, playing Super Mario Bros for regular Nintendo, or N.E.S., which we still have and still works, and eating frozen store-bought White Castle Cheese Burgers and thinking of or looking at Donald Duck, my very first favorite cartoon character ever. And l still like to do these things even though I'm 28.

I would never go back.

I think most people want their childhood back sometimes. The first 10 years of my childhood was in the 90's, and I'd say my favourite year of my childhood life was 1999, because the millennium thing was all so exciting at the time. And I loved being 9, and the songs that were out that year were one of the best. So I wish I could at least go back and re-live 1999 again.

Also socialising was easier as a kid. I remember when we had family gatherings, all of my cousins were children and we all played together and got along. Now when we had the occasional family gathering, I don't know what to say to most of my cousins any more, and it's just not the same. Also we used to go upstairs in the bedroom when we went to other kid's houses, or they would come into my room when they came round mine. Now everybody crowds in one room and it's more difficult to get to talk to people personally.

I didn't get so anxious and irritable when I was a kid either. I did have a few anxieties at school, but otherwise, my life seemed like a care-free zone compared to now. I used to get so excited when people called round unexpectedly. Now I get all stressed out and need my privacy. I could focus on things without getting distracted by noises outside my room. Now I get into such a rage and have to shove earplugs into my ears to block out unwanted noise just so I can concentrate.

Life was so much easier being a child. I didn't like being a teenager a lot, but looking back, at least I still had most of my cousins to talk with and was more closer to them than I am now. Everybody's changed since they have grown up, everybody's starting out in a relationship, and they have become different people.

All the time. When life was simple, schools weren't going nuts on the zero tolerance mentality and kids were just that.

If I re-experienced my childhood knowing what I know now, so much would have seemed different......

I wonder how different myself and my life would be if I only saw people through older eyes.

I miss being short.

I miss all the after school TV shows that came on once we got home from school. I can remember the scheduling of some of my old favorites from back then.
