Forgive me if somebody's done this one already--I ran a search, didn't find anything.

My favorite male names:
Sven (naturally it's a character name for my book)
Warren (ditto)
Vincent
Cyrus

My favorite female names (yeah, mostly overly feminine ones. XD Heheh.)
Viviana
Ciara
Isabella
Rose
Vera

There are more, but that's all I can think of right now, I'm afraid.

Dorothy

boys:
Rudolph
Myshkin (also from The Idiot)
Wilberforce (Mr. Humphries' first name on AYBS?. I don't think many boys would appreciate named being named after such an effeminate character)

If I had a son, I'd name him Joel. It's short, and to the point. I'm into one-syllable names, especially if I'll have to be yelling them over and over from the other end of the house! (I know, Joel may not be a one-syllable name, but I'd speak it that way on purpose.)

My ex-wife was named Amanda, which is hard to yell from the other end of a house, so I'd just shout "MANDA!" Glad she wasn't named Persephone-Antoinette or something!

I like my real name...
Olivia
I also like the variant...Olive...or Oliver for a male.

I went to school with two boys who were both named Kelly...that is a sorta rare odd name for a boy...what's more they were close friends...what's more they kinda looked alike....I guess they were sorta bonted through their name.

I have also known a couple of different guys named Jody.

I kinda like names that could go either way gender-wise

I keep changing my mind about favorite names but, sometimes when people ask, I'll say Adolph and Judas haven't been used for awhile. Maybe those names need to be recycled.
