Why do I look sooo young? I’m 50. People always say I look sooo young, it’s because of Aspergers or because I never had children, I know children mess up women bodies.

Also make up tends to age women. I have noticed that the few women who do not bother wearing make up do tend to age better looks wize, then the ones who use it regularly. I do not know why this is.
My Mum hardly wore make up unless she felt she had to, and she is retired but she does not look it, so she can get people assume that she is able to do things for them as if she was a 50 year old so she can be taken advantage.

I do not know why.
I do know that the thing about autistic people often looking younger than their calendar age is talked about.

I never tell anyone my age as I got sick of them saying "You don't look it" if anyone does ask I say old enough.

when I turn 60 unless they automatically give you a seniors card I won't be asking for one as it will be embarrassing.

I'm 32 and ppl assume I'm a 15/16 yo kid.

I wish I looked 21 instead.

I'm 4"11. I think that's a big part of it. And I have a medical guardian who won't let me transition medically, so I can't be on T and growing facial hair etc but I'm not a girl so I don't wear makeup. I look like an androgynous kid

I'm 30 (no idea why my profile says I'm 31), but many people say I look like an adolescent.

I do not think that autism causes us to look younger than we are. When NTs & others guess people's ages, they tend to factor in various things like the way someone dresses, their behavior, their mannerisms, their facial expressions, their body language, the way they talk, what they talk about, their interests, ect ect. Us autistics do tend to age slower mentally than our peers. Lots of things say that on average an autistic's mental age is a 3rd less than their physical age. That is just an average & there are PLENTY of exceptions thou including some autistics who are mentally older than their physical ages. I think our mental age tending to be younger causes us to give off a younger vibe. There is also a saying that you should say that a woman is younger than her actual age. That is probably related to a stereotype that women lie about their age & claim to be younger than they actually are. Some women are very insecure about their age & the media & fashion industry have made mega bux playing off their insecurity by hyping products that supposedly make women look younger.

Lots of things sometimes related to autism can cause people to physically age faster. Us autistics tend to be under lots of stress from living in a world not designed for us. Lots of psych meds have various side-effects that can shorten life like raising cholesterol, raising blood pressure, & raising blood sugar to name a few & us autistics do tend to take more psych meds than the general population(I take 4 different psych meds daily). We can be very picky eaters & have very unbalanced diets(I sure do). We tend to be homebodies who prefer to spend time online which can cause us to be less physically active(I sure need to be more active).

Sadly it's more like an emotional thing.

35 is our life expectancy :(

Like LGBT people this is a lot to do with hate including self hate. :( Suicide over not being 'normal'.

Embrace your eccentricities.

I know you do. And I certainly do.

You’re going to live a long time.

When I was younger, I didn’t wear any makeup, I put ALOT of medicine & lotion on my body everyday (I have Psoriasis, my skin look young too) When I was in high school, I wore some makeup to try to fit in, you should have seen me with eyeshadow, I looked like clown. I wore makeup sometimes later in life, like to make me feel pretty. When I moved out of my mom’s house , I wore lipstick or lipgloss , my lips felt naked without it  I also put moisturizer on my face & eye cream on at one point in my life, I wanted to be like other women. I don’t wear any makeup now. Youth runs in my family too. My mom & grandmother looked 10-15 years younger.
