I find this thread deeply unsettling.

My vote was spring chicken. The flecks of silver you see on my temples aren't grey hairs, they're iridescent highlights.

damned glad I haven't got the latter, but as a guy gets older his bladder gets fuller easier and empties not quite as easily. as for the icecream hurting teeth, do as I do and brush with sensodyne.

Do Sensodyne do a smoker's toothpaste?

Re the bladder thing, I found this out recently. I was pretty much bed-ridden for a couple of days last week due to a... um... smoking injury (my lung collapsed). My bathroom is downstairs.

I would have picked up an extra bag of cat litter to put next to my bed, if I wasn't so damn weak and wheezy :lmao:

I think we're lied to about what old is. When I was a 5 year old people were "old" if they were bigger than me. When I was 15 I thought people were definitely old and past it if they were more than 30. Now I'm 40 and I still feel 5, and I have friends who are 70 and theyre still not "old", so old now must mean anyone over a hundred. Therefore none of the people on this thread are old and we should all be allowed to celebrate our youthfulness with strawberries and sprinkles on our icecream. (it doesnt hurt your teeth if you're old enough to have false ones  )

Pobbles, I do hope you can switch to E-cigs at least. I hope to keep my natural choppers for the duration. anyways, i discovered i could answer yes to the following signs of old-geezerhood-

1. I fall asleep watching TV or reading the paper
2. I become forgetful
3. I groan when getting up from a chair or out of bed
4. I say ?back in my day?
5. I choose clothes for comfort rather than style
6. I repeat myself
7. I have no idea what is in the music charts
8. I insist ?things aren?t as they used to be?
9. I choose places to eat because they play quiet music
10. I have an afternoon nap
11. I don't know the names of current celebrities
12. I have a low tolerance for teenagers
13. I forget where my glasses are
14. I choose to meet friends for lunch or dinner rather than a night out for drinks
15. I wear slippers all the time
16. I watch ?old? TV shows like Antiques Roadshow
17. I only listen to music from my youth
18. I always take an umbrella or coat out with me, just in case

Tried e-cigs, but the flavour I like hasn't been decriminalised in the UK.
I thought my post would be shorter if I listed the points I didn't identify with.

1. You fall asleep watching TV or reading the paper (TV and newspapers aren't needed in my house)
6. You repeat yourself. (I have a pathological aversion to repeating myself. If someone didn't hear me the first time, I resent them for it)
12. People offer you a seat on public transport. (lots of cripples where I live)
15. You forget where your glasses are. (OCD)
19. You watch ?old? TV shows like Antiques Roadshow (see 1.)
20. You spend weekends or bank holidays in garden centres (smoking isn't allowed in garden centres)

Oh deary me.

No TV or newspapers here either, but all the other things on that list have been true for me since childhood 8O
Maybe I was born old and have been growing down instead of up ever since..

I'm a young, 53 year old Wolfman!! !! !

I'm just a little tubby.

I fall asleep while I'm watching TV; I delight in my dreams.

I'm proud to till be a silly goose!
