Yes, back in the 90's, full CC numbers were printed on receipts and of course the pressure swipey paper (carbon? whatever) had them imprinted... I remember a janitor at the truck stop I worked at would pull the carbon paper out of the trash (the top portion being the one submitted for payment to the cc company and the bottom one being the customer's receipt, this carbon sheet between the two would copy the information from one to the other) and getting the name and number off of them and buying stuff with it.
The only thing I destroy now is checks and documents with the full account number on them.
