Funny that, how they don't have cars named after dirty old men, like the Creeper or the Chickenhawk.

Anyway, my sympathies on the car issues; would it be the infamous 3.8L engine of the mid-90s? Eater of head gaskets, that one

My guess is it maybe the 2.5 Durajunk (duratech) engine that had oil starvation problems. I don't know how many spun bearings in the bottom end I have seen due to this! I think this existed from like '99 till '03 or '04 and ford has NEVER admitted to the problems that I am aware of. At any rate, I hope things start going better for you soon OliveOilMom.

I was raised on Chevy and did not want to be the first to kick someone when they're down, but there's also:

Fvcked On Race Day
Flip Over Read Directions

and in reverse:
Driver Returns On Foot

But really if they wanted an economical V engine from Germany so bad they should have used the V4 out of the Taunus, Otherwise Australia's got it right in keeping with the straight 6s - good mileage, better than average power and smooth as glass. Oh, cheap and lazy manufacturers can't get a straight 6 under the hood with all the FWD crap, that's why the I6 is extinct in Mexamericanada,

All I can suggest is to get the copper-ringed head gaskets and spray the Permatex copper gasket spray on each mating surface

I used to have a Lincoln with that 3.8L engine in it, I could smell the leaking antifreeze due to the bad head gaskets. I got rid of it just in time. a mechanic told me that what ford used to do to "mitigate" the problem was tighten down those head bolts extra tight.

I was also raised GM,the most common truck here is the Chevy. Not that I think their new products are any good.take an old 72 Chevy truck with a 350 and you could always find a part for it and fix it yourself, maybe used the gas,but dependable as all get out.
My car is a 86 Pontiac 6000 STE,I love it,one of the best cars GM ever built.

Mine has an air compressor built into the trunk,I have no fear of flats, plus I carry two spares, the donut and a fullsize, plugs and fixaflat.
This car smooths out the roughest roads and you can take a curve at twenty over suggested speed. :D
