My dad told me once that when he and my mom would go and have ultrasounds done (while I was still in utero), they would always see me just floating around contentedly sucking my thumb. The thing is, after I was born, I didn't really suck my thumb that much at all; nor was I interested in pacifiers - that's what my mom remembers. I just wonder why that is. Maybe it was because I discovered stuffed animals by my 1st birthday or earlier, and was more comforted by those instead.
My middle half-sister didn't suck her thumb/use pacifiers much either (as I recall), but my youngest half-sister sucked her thumb all. the. time and would twirl her hair with her other hand as she did so. My youngest half-sister was more fussy/temperamental than the two of us combined, but doesn't have a dx of anything.
