As many other users have pointed out, the internet has become quite a toxic place, and for the first time since the dawn of civilization, I believe that offline may actually now be a safer place for those on the spectrum and with social and mental health issues.

It has occurred to me that many of the younger generations have never experienced a world without internet and have little idea of potentially health things to do offline, so I am compiling a list. I invite others to ad to it.

1. Read a book.
2. Watch TV.
4. Go see a movie.
5. Go watch a sports game.
6. Shoot some hoops at a basketball court.
7. Join a sports team.
8. Go for a walk or hike with family, a friend, or a hiking club.
9. Join a gym and attend regularly.
10. Train for a marathon or some olympic sport.
11. Learn an instrument.
12. Start a band and play gigs at clubs.
13. Volunteer for a humanitarian organization or community outreach program.
14. Go back to college and work towards your dream profession.
15. Get a job or a second job if you have the time.
16. Learn an art.
17. Visit with family or friends.
18. Go window shopping.
19. Visit a place you have never visited before.
20. Take up acting and try to make it big in film, TV, or theater.
21. Write a book or screenplay.
22. Learn a trade like woodworking or blacksmithing.
23. Learn a profitable skillset like machining.
24. Learn to sail.
25. Learn to scuba dive.
26. Learn to surf.
27. Go kayaking.
28. Learn to fly airplanes.
29. Join a board game club.
30. Join a choir.

Feel free to add to the list.

There was life before internet.

When I was younger, adults were always complaining that we watched too much TV and that it was bad because the shows were all full of sex and violence, and my generation would grow all grow up into uneducated, promiscuous serial killers because of it. And now people are worried we're doing too much of something other than watching TV? Hilarious.

Of course, most shows on TV are terrible now. Not just for being vulgar or violent, but for being just incredibly stupid and anyone who watches such shows and likes them should really be deeply ashamed of themselves.

One and eight are my passions when I'm offline. Reading and nature keep me relatively sane.

The title of this thread alone is mind blowing.

The acting and maybe screenwriting is something I'd want to try at least.

I agree with your sentiment, I've only been online for the last 7 years BUT in order to do a lot of stuff now, you have to go online to sign up for it, or join, or find out the timetables for things. Paper train timetables are like gold dust here. I partly finally gave in when I couldn't be a blood dona because it was all done online, but mainly to write my novel because all of the up to date info on submissions ect is online. What I mean is which ever direction away from online you go the path constantly turns back towards the computer so to be consistent even for limited periods takes a concerted effort in today's world.

I'm glad I didn't grow up in today's constantly connected environment, I would find that even more exhausting.
