Yesterday I totally forget that today is Thanksgiving. I been MORE confuse & forgetting what day it is ever since Im moved to the group home. Alot of the time I ask for a snack, I can forget to ask too, when I told one lady that I can forget, she told me I have to remember.

I would have been kind of glad to have totally overlooked it, but I had to be aware that Wal-Mart would be closed. Imagine the shock, walking all that way and not being able to buy food. So I remembered.

And as soon as I looked at Facebook, the memes were waiting in droves to remind me. One was from King Of The Hill:
Dale: Do you people even celebrate Thanksgiving?
John Redcorn: We did......once.
. . .I presume that's a reference to some event in American history that Native Americans wish had never happened.

As it was, I'll have to be content to know that the only thing I did to "mark the occasion" was to visit my very old father-in-law because I'd picked up that it's an important togetherness day for him and that it would mean something to him for me to put my nose round his door. Beyond that, it was business as usual 8)

I'm happy that the American Thanksgiving is over and I won't have to hear any more about it for another year.

Does it have to come even once a year?
