To illustrate my hypothis; I am a 58YO man; I have held blue collar jobs for the last few decades. I am single and I have Aspergers. The way I interact with others is affected by these facts. So everybody has their own reality based on their sex, age, job, marital status and anything else that may affect them. Does this make sense to you?

when we grow up we watch a lot of TV,
we are trying to learn about the world but TV is a distorted lens.

SO we take what we learn and we take on roles.

When we buy something at the store we take on the role of a customer.

You are taking on your role as you see it.
I cant say how different you would be if you had a different job though.

Although I do believe personality is determined by time of birth and astrology :)

No. Does the following syllogism make sense to you?

a. A separate subjective reality exists only for each individual, based on each individual's perceptive ability and his or her understanding of what his or her perceptions mean to him or her.

b. There is also an objective reality, which is what continues to exist before the birth and after the death of an individual.

: : If reality was solely subjective, then all would cease to exist if even one of us was to die.

My birth gender has very little bearing on my reality.

Fnord, I partially agree with what you said. I agree that there is an overall objective reality but how we perceive that reality is colored by one's life experiences

I see what you are saying. Society though does dictate the roles we acquire based upon our gender.

Your first sentence contradicts your second sentence, which is in complete agreement with my previous post.

To re-phrase: Each of us has our own subjective reality, which may or may not agree with the objective reality that exists independent of our perceptions and understanding.

The job that I have held for the past 15+ years does somewhat define me; I probably wouldn't think exactly the same if I held a different job. I also view Astrology as having a determining factor on how we think and act. I met this person while in the USAF that had the exact same birthday (including the year). The similarities were remarkedly very much the same. Astrology would also explain how twins that are split up and adopted to families in different localities are remarkedly similar.

thats cool , good to know

if you want to know everything astrology has to say about you, put your birthday in here:

it's fun and allows you to accept who you are basically

YES AND NO - Some things are objective facts - For example the average/normal ph of arterial blood is 7.40 - That is not an opinion - It is a fact. Someone who thinks otherwise is simply wrong.

But there are many things that are purely subjective - Is person "A" beautiful or handsome? Is person "B" ugly or unattractive? Is talking out loud to yourself normal?

The fact that we all see the world through different eyes and then interpret what we hear, see, smell or touch with different neurological systems that have developed under different bio-genetic circumstances with life experiences different then anyone else - of course a lot of reality is subjective. But there is also something called objective facts.
