Whenever I see tiny versions of everyday larger things I can't help but think they're adorable. Like realistic-looking doll accessories and decorative items and such. This week I even bought a package of shot-glass-sized versions of the popular red "party cups", just because I was amused by their small appearance.

Apparently this is a female thing, guys don't get the "cuteness" of such things. But maybe it's an aspie thing, too. I've been told about my attention to detail when I'm drawing cartoons. We're supposed to notice tiny details on things that NT's don't. What do you think?

I agree, miniature things are cute (I'm female also). I don't know why.

Sometimes I've wanted to buy dollhouse furniture even though I don't have a doll house, just because I saw a tiny chair or something and just thought it was darling.

No, it's not a female thing! I'm a man and I find small things cute. And I know other men who find small things cute, too. For example, at work we somehow found a shorter thinner version of plastic tubes (for scientific analysis). When we (my male coworker and I) saw those tubes, we straight away said "Oh, they are so cute!". There were other such instances. I do notice that men tend to hesitate to say that kind of thing because it sounds "unmanly".

I think we human beings (and probably other animals) are programmed to find smaller things cute because if we didn't find babies (smaller versions of human beings) cute, we would hate to look after such noisy, smelly, dirty and unpredictable creatures.

I'm a female, and I LOVE miniature models of things, and I'm often compelled to buy them----but, I don't. I've always wanted a dollhouse for this very reason----also, I LOVE scale model cars!!

I think jk1 has a point, about babies. I think that's why we love little things; it starts with our love of babies, maybe----except for the whining, pooping, crying part!!

Also, I could see why it might be an Aspie thing, because we're, so many of us, sort-of child-like----or, "simplistic", if you prefer..... We like things "simple"----and, if we "know" the "natural-sized" thing, we automatically appreciate its tiny replica, maybe.
