I thought I'd start a thread for those of you who were born between 1987-1996. I was born in 1990, and I was a great example of a 90s kid.

-I collected Pokemon cards and shared/swapped them at school
-I watched Nickelodeon
-Yoyos and tamagoucies were the rage at one time
-Powerrangers were on TV on Saturdays
-Sega megadrive (Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Streets of Rage, Megabomberman)
-Borrowing videotapes from the record shop
-I loved Spice Girls and S Club 7 for a while

Anyone else come up with any memories of growing up in the 90s, toys and TV programmes you can remember?

I would give anything to bring the 90s back, including the first 10 years of my childhood.

Damn, missed it by one year. I was born in 1986, I guess I can still relate to being a 90's kid though. Mostly 90's with a bit of 80's. Then my teen years were 2000's.

Yeah, you can pass off as a 90s kid, being the majority of your childhood years were in the 90s. My teens was in the 2000s too, but maybe we can start another thread on ''was you a 2000 teenager''?

That describes my childhood to a T. I wouldn't dare to miss an episode of All That or The Amanda Show. I saw the first Pokemon movie in theatres. I'm also pretty sure I had a Pikachu plushie with me while I watched it on the big screen

I also had the soundtrack for the live action Josie and the Pussycats movie! Boy it's been a long time since them days!

Ahh, the 90s. I entered 'em at the age of 2, and found myself a rat-faced first-grader of 12 going on 13 when the year 2K came along.

My nostalgic memories of the decade include...

-SNES games (yeah, that's right. I was a Nintendo kid all the way)
-Beast Wars
- inline skates
- space hoppers, or 'hoppity hops'
- jump ropes
- the Winner Taco ice cream snack (with the CGI polar bear commercial)
- Timberlake was still in NSYNC
- Beyoncé was still in Destiny's Child
- collecting stickers that came wrapped around those flat slabs of chewing gum
- wearing baseball caps either backwards or sideways

For a visual representation of what the 90s looked like to me, I give you these TV show intros:

Can relate to ALL of them! I'm 1986, lol. Yoyos and tamagotchis were both banned at my school, as were beanie babies (which I was obsessed with, still have them!). Have completed Sonic 2 on Sega more times than I can remember! How about Tetris on the original 'brick' game boy? Or Saturday Disney/Diggit on weekend mornings? Aztec chocolate bars and Fuse bars? Don't forget Pogs (I still have all of those too, and the Tazos you used to get in crisp packets even thought I hated crisps!). The Borrowers on Sunday afternoons. When i was a teenager, Bad Girls on ITV (another obsession). Sweet Valley High books/TV show (you guessed it- another obsession!). Literally growing up with Harry Potter as I was the same age as him when the books came out- did GCSEs the year he did OWLs and left school the same year as he did.

I was born in 1983 and I consider myself a 90's kid. Well I don't remember anything about the 80's at all.
