I'm a clean hygienic person who takes showers regularly but admittedly have been in a rush a few time here and, there and didnt. One time I was told that more then one person had complained that I had body oder. to hear that was probaby the worse feeling I've ever experienced. Have you ever been on that situation before?

I imagine so, sometimes I notice it myself and then decide I want to change my shirt, or take a shower if its unpleasant or if I just got a bit sweaty in the arm-pits wash them and re-apply deodorant. To me I guess its not a huge deal, I mean it is a natural occurrence and no one smells perfectly clean and perfumed 100% of the time anyways. Hell if I really was smelly enough to bother people I would like to know if I don't realize it myself....but having been to many metal shows, camping trips and been in other situations where people get a bit smelly I cannot say I am offended if I catch a hint of body odor...nor do I find it too terribly embarrassing.

Of course it feels gross if I am out in the heat and get all sweaty and develop stronger body odor so that would be a wee bit embarrassing....but typically if that happens its because I am having to take the bus around on a hot day and don't exactly have the means to shower and change until I am able to get home. I do try to plan those things for somewhat cooler weather but it does not always work out that way. I am not super clean/hygienic...and usually only shower a few times a week, but I am not an entire slob and I like my clothes to be clean...even if a bit torn/ripped here and there.

No but I shave my pits & crotch to help cut down on sweating.

It might help to use an antibacterial soap to kill some of the bacteria that create much of the odor.

I'm sure there have been times when I was stinking of sweat after not having had a shower for a few days in summer (I was too depressed to be motivated to do many of the everyday things). I could actually smell it myself. But people never told me to my face that I stunk. I think it's really hard to say that kind of thing.

Some people have bad BO even after having a shower. I hear that there is some kind of operation to remove whatever is causing it.

I know there's an operation to stop sweating but it's only done after meds have been tried 1st. I'm on one of those meds but I'm taking it for a different issue but part of the reason I'm on that one is because I sweat easily & I don't sweat too much nowadays.

Wouldn't it be unhealthy not to sweat though? that is how mammals keep from over-heating....it would be a terrible idea for me as I can barely stand 75 degree weather or hotter for any length of time without getting nauseous/sick feeling unless I just keep pouring water on myself and getting my hair wet in the sink in the first bathroom I can find.

If the pill reduces sweating that's OK I reckon, but I'd beware of anything that completely stopped sweating. There was an incident where Bill Ward the drummer for the original Black Sabbath was rushed to the hospital after his organs started shutting down after the other members spray painted him from head to toe while he slept as a prank. There was also a Mythbusters episode covering, so to speak, organ failure by having gold body paint applied, and in an episode of 1000 Ways To Die there was a guy who built himself a custom fish suit and was found in a bathtub after his landlord broke the door down

My mother told me that she has never noticed me giving off odors of any kind. I guess she doesn't remember that when I had a mastoid infection as a teenager the discharge oozing out my ear gave of an odor other people noticed and she thought at first it was from not showering while kids at school screamed out "Smelly!" everywhere I went.

The only person I remember saying I stunk of perspiration was my lovely older brother, but I had been dancing while wearing a sweater. Gads I hate those things, I haven't worn one in years.

It's strange, we're supposed to sweat when overheated. If we didn't we'd die. And our disgusting scent was probably how we survived as a species back in the Stone Age because wild animals associate bad smells with danger. Now we have a trillion products used to mask the smell and we bathe more than we did in any other era. But that's one change that suits me just fine, I don't want humans to stink worse than they already do. Like when my dad would come home after fishing on the sea for a couple of weeks at least...
