Ya know, to some, right now isn't the best time in history, so we imagine ourselves in different times. Tell us where you'd be if you weren't living in this day and age.
---
I'd live during the 1980s; as I've said, the fashions and music were at their best. It was a much different time in so many ways; people then weren't as jaded as they are now.

They weren't that great if you lived through them. Pretty much the same problems we have today, with recessions and stuff.

I lived through the 80's and I would go straight back there without hesitation.

But, it would have to be without any knowledge of subsequent time. Or I don't think that it would be the same. I've spoken to friends about it years ago.

You'd have to experience it as a true 80's person, I think.

I once had a dream where I time traveled back to the late 90s.

The quality was a lot like 90s television and my home from the outside looked like a newsagents for some reason? :?:

Sometimes I get this surreal impression I go to this same place over and over and I keep jumping hours ahead...It's like time travel...but it's not really. ;)

First, I'd like to travel back to the 80s at the age that I am now. I'd also like to spend some time in England, in the 60s. Now really isn't the best time in history. I'm well aware that there were less rights in the 60s. I know that the economy wasn't the greatest in the 80s. I know what my preferences are. 8)

I'd want to try the 1999/2000 era again; just to relive my preteen years because they were so good to me.

1930 to 1960

We went from the Great Depression to the Space Age in less than 30 years. Sometime in there, we also began the Nuclear Age, the Transistor Age, and the Computer Age.

The only downside is that the Sexual Revolution and the Civil Rights Movement didn't happen until the mid-1960s ... but I've already experienced those.

I'd like to go back to the year 2087. Best time of my life... before I got flung back in time 100 years. :P

I've also lived through the 80s and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

I'd also like to travel back to the days of Swinging London and Carnaby Street.

I'd like to go back to the 90s. Maybe it was just childhood innocence and naivete, but pop culture seemed so fresh and interesting in the 90s compared to what we have today. Especially in regards to videogames (SNES, N64, Gameboy) and animation (both Japanese and Western - Renaissance age of Disney, Pokemon, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Sailor Moon, etc.)

it depends on the song i listen to.

i always keep the date and origin of any song in my mind, and it helps me to picture the time period and context of the song. since i like almost any genre, i can time travel to many times and places. :D

I don't think it limits itself to time travel; it's probably just any general time/place/alternate reality.

Thus is the power of IIIIMMAAAAAGGIIINNNAAAAATTIIIOOOONNNNN~

I would be a few thousand years in the future aboard a space-ship or on another planet.
The responses in this thread made me think of this~
