It's "Make-Up-Your-Own-Holiday" Day today. What holiday(s) would you make up? Me, April 13th, Me Day (my birthday, so it's all about yours truly here, :D) September 19th, Press Your Luck Day, March 7th, Digi-Moon Day...... the list goes on, but those are my big three.

Fnordsday.

Formerly known as February 29th.

It would no longer be a day in February, but its own, separate month with only one day, occurring only once every four years.

No business could be transacted. No religious services could be held. The Internet would be shut off. Cellular phone towers would be put in Stand-By mode. Schools would be closed. Broadcast, cable, and satellite TV services would be shut off. The airports, train stations, and bus terminals would be closed, and no planes, trains or buses would be running. All stop lights would turn red. In fact, the entire world would be under a 24-hour curfew (except for emergency services, of course).

Why?

To force people to stay at home, indoors, with their families, and without anything that would distract them from actually being with and communicating with their families (and any friends that they wanted to spend the day with).

:D Happy Fnordsday! :D

Only 340 shopping days left!

I would make a day a mandatory relaxation day, too many of us are in a rush from one place to the other. Need to go somewhere, walk there if possible and without a cell phone or other device.

I would also set a day aside for promoting to being more aware of the world around you.

I remember The Smurfs having a "holiday" called Unhappiness Day, where they were not allowed to do anything that made them happy (eat Smurf berries, sing, dance, indulge in their personal interests) for one whole day. It was to help them not to take being happy for granted the rest of the year. But I don't think that would work as a human holiday since many if not most humans seem unhappy all the time. But of course most humans only think they'll be happy if they achieve something - if I get married I'll be happy, If I get divorced I'll be happy, If I get this job I'll be happy, if I quit I'll be happy, and on and on.

In areas where February 29th is winter I would move the date.
