Like other people always have something you want to achieve and then when you do they're ahead of you again with something else?

To counteract that, I like to watch disgusting voyeuristic reality shows such as Hoarders Buried Alive, Intervention, My 600 Pound Life, and Drugs Inc. Seeing people who are struggling with much more than I ever struggle with, I can feel very proud of myself for not being as badly off as them.

several steps ahead of me, if not a country mile. so as a result I like to do my own thing of which they are clueless.

That's a feeling familiar to me. Even if people don't take a step ahead of me,I'll probably find myself taking a step back somehow instead.
