alright, basically i think the public school system is a sham, class sizes are too big and nobody learns anything. i think all the public school systems are really used for is getting kids ready to work, and 8 hour day 40 hours a week. since thats basically the same hours at a school. weekends off. its a flipping conspiracy i just know it. thoughts?

ha,yes,"bureaucrats selling meal tickets to future bureaucrats".Many cultural and social conventions are seemingly arbitrary for the masses, accompanied and sold by essential mythologies, and simply support the established power structure.

On the other hand, since all humans do coexist(at least partially)on a plane that can be described by the natural sciences,it's good that all children have access to tools which may help them navigate that world.AND,if we are intelligent and motivated enough, compulsory education may provide enough frustrating incentive for us to eventually self-educate.

Regardless, school of any sort has potential to be useful if one wants vocational training,or to learn specific skills.I'm a neurotic slacker myself, but it makes sense in theory.

I hated school. They treat the kids like robots.

I think I would be smarter if I never went to school.

Same here. At least I wouldn't have been discarded into the Special Education system.

It's like that at my school and I don't really learn anything here because the teachers aren't always there most of the time.

I'm sure many public schools can be very nice... and expensive. That is when you aren't getting beaten or buggered.

@ government: L2Budget money

@ people: have fewer kids

I think you're right on this one.
I hate all the theory work, there's so much of it, even in seemingly practical subjects like sewing or art (i.e. write a 500 word essay on a piece of art, or a 350 word essay on cotton ect.) it doesn't work out that way, the human mind works in pictures, NOT words! And homework is just stupid! 8 hours a day 5 days a week is already more than enough! I also hate it how they only have schools for NTs and severely ret*d kids, and we're put in either school and it just doesn't work as we're too smart for special schools yet we think too differently for NT schools. They should have schools (or at least seperate classes) for apsies.

I went to a CTY summer program once. It was the most fun I ever had at school.

I would learn & accomplish so much more without school. Out of 9 50-minute periods, I sleep through 7 of them. I get all A's and B's by doing so. It's a waste of my time and my sanity.
