What conditions have people online accused you of having and did any of them ever accuse you of having autism and happened to be correct or tell you you didn't have autism and had something else instead? What are your online diagnoses?

I have had numerous diagnoses from people online; mental issues, mild mental retardation, slow learner, psychopath, disorganized schizophrenia, NT, low functioning, brain damage and a couple that happened to be correct; autism spectrum and learning disabled but then that person who accused me of being learning disabled decided I was just a slow learner.

I'm trying to think if anyone has said I should look up a mental condition... I know people have suggested medical conditions but I can't remember them mentioning anything mental, even as an insult (like being called psycho)

It's kind of depressing how many disorders internet people have accused me of having...

dependent PD, ADHD, bipolar, BPD, autism (of course), mental retardation, depression, social anxiety

yeah that's about it

Oh, that is true, I have been called "ret*d." I get called all sorts of other things as insults, but for some reason they don't call me crazy/psycho/etc. I have been told "go die" and "kill yourself" type stuff.

As far as serious goes, I think because I'm fairly open about the problems I do know I have, people tend to avoid those subjects, or if they have mentioned it, I've brushed it off because it didn't mean anything to me. Now I have to wonder... My family were the ones to suggest I'm on the spectrum, and the depression, ADD, and OCD and other stuff was all done in a psych office, so that doesn't count as online.

I've also been accused of having Dyslexia & ADHD & I am dyslexic & have ADD.

I have never been truly diagnosed online, but in the past I was diagnosed with several things by real "professionals" before Asperger's put them all to rest: schizophrenia form disorder, learning disabled, mildly mentally ret*d, behaviorally dysfunctional, and a lunatic.

I'm serious about that last one, the staff in the mental ward called me a lunatic and threatened to stick a needle full of drugs in my a** because I was crying hysterically while committing self-harm i.e. punching myself until I was bruised all over.

A very few online gamers suspects I'm either an aspie (no, not the jerkass type) or a socially awkward person in general. Because I'm online most at the time and recalls everything I read.
Sometimes they thought I have some sort of split personality one time... O.o And hyperactivity sometimes except I don't have ADHD or ADD, I'm just really hyper in chocolate or sweets.

Me being called 'crazy' is kinda a joke sometimes. Then there's this time when I was accused as 'high' for not being clear to my message one time...

Then I myself suspected some other online gamers that they're not a complete NT... Which turns out true and they themselves confirmed their respective cases to me. I don't play anymore. :(

Oh yeah, someone online once asked if I had dyslexia because I did a few typos with my fast typing on IM and he kept insisting I was dyslexic but he was also an ass too.

Someone on another website unrelated to autism, once slammed me for posting I don't know what, a detailed correction of something, I think - and he said "What are you, autistic?!"

But then, I've noticed people online using that as the newest general insult lately (taking over from "what are you, a ret*d?" so he was probably just thinking it was a general insult rather than an accurate guess about me.

It's hard to tell if something is a genuine thing or an insult when they label you or ask if you have something or not.

That's true, it's often not easy to tell the tone intended online. However, in this particular case he said that amid a barrage of more well defined insults, so basically it was a stream of f-bombs and put downs concluding with the "autistic" remark!

People don't diagnose me online.
But when I tried to socialize I heard I am a liar or a troll. I was even accused(while talking with a guy on a dating chat) of being 60 year old male despite being 26 year old female and answering all questions honestly.
Yet when I don't try to socialize and just focus on my interests I am being called a specialist, expert or wikipedia. In online game I was playing for 8 years I was known as: "No need to ask google, just ask Kiriae."

Some of these were online; others were in "real life":

depression and social anxiety (the only ones which are definitely correct)
derealization
bipolar disorder
borderline personality disorder
OCD
psychosis

No one ever told me I had autism. On the contrary, people whom I've told have sometimes not believed it.

LOL someone just accused me of trolling on another board and then said if I am not trolling, I am an idiot then and another person thought I made up a anecdote story about Frankie, a boy I knew. I was also accused of being a man too lol on the same website and he or she told me I sound like a man pretending to be a woman. I guess my ASD can make me sound male. It's like people subtly hint you are on the spectrum but I know these things happen to everyone. I don't see how any different a man and woman can write unless they describe their parts and describe what they wear or take with (purse).

Actually in my language it is a huge difference of how males and females write - we have masculine and feminine language forms (for example "I wrote"="Napisałem" if a male says it, "Napisałam" if a female says it). I always use the feminine form.

I've had the "man" thing too, but more in the context of a bunch of guys on a board actually believing that not as many women use the internet as men, therefore they concluded that the handful of women claiming to be women on their board, simply had to be men pretending to be female.

I don't have hard figures, but I see just as many women (or claimants to being women, lol) online as men. Some of my earliest board memberships were on sites created by women, and I've created sites myself. There's still a lot of men out there who actually believe nobody online who says they are female are telling the truth. Ya gotta laugh!
