What threads from Off The Wall, whether they're currently active or not, do you rate highly?

My all time favourite, as a challenging and creative concept, is Word To Word In Six Or Less Word Associations, which is sadly no longer active. viewtopic.php?t=122962&start=1380

I also like the 5-Letter Word Game, the 6-Letter Word Game and the crazy BANNED thread. :D

The BUMP, Questions Only - because they are random and pointless.

I don't post much in Off The Wall but there are a few threads I like. I can't remember the exact titles. I'm too lazy to search the list for them.

-Define the nonsense word
-Post a nonsense sentence
-Two lies and a truth
-Write the worst short story
-Very bad advice

I think there are more.

I had to reactivate that one for you, DeepHour! Looked like a lot of fun. :D

Thanks to everyone for the replies so far, and especially to Myriad for bringing the 'Word Associations' game back to life. A very friendly Australian lady called SyAn used to play on that thread a lot, but she doesn't seem to have been around on WP since last December.

I like Corrupt a wish a lot (but it's hard to think of things to wish for).
Other than that, I think the chat threads (the 'we love X' threads) are my faves.
And finally some of the A-Z games, like Pokemon, WP members and toys.
Oh, and Kyle's Ghost threads. I wouldn't mind if there was another one for books and games...

Yeah, that one was always fun to post in and read.

Another good one.

I'm sure there are good games I've forgotten. I like the Off the Wall section a lot, it gives us the opportunity for fun and easy interaction.

I personally enjoy the A-Z threads, gives me a chance to spout of random useless knowledge about my interests that I've got pent up inside me.

4 letter word game
5 letter word game
6 letter word game
keep a word/drop a word
word association game
use the last 2 letters for new word

I really liked: 'short word from a looonng word, however, there were too many things for my brain to remember to think about, and I was making a mess of things, due to this, so I packed it in. But, I do miss playing.

The word games, the sentence games, the A to Z ones, and the movies ones.

I also really used to like the "This or That", and the "Take It or Leave It" (I THINK that's what it was called----that was the IDEA, anyway); but, it got increasingly difficult to think of something NEW, to leave for the next person.

I've also played a couple of the counting games, just for something different.

"Post an odd fact you know" was good, as was "Hollywood Trivia you know" or something like that was good.

Usually hate the counting games, but one I did like was the one in which each person had to do the next number by posting a photo found on the internet that contained the number in a scene: 5132 would be on a beat up rusty sign in the Arizona desert, 5133 would be on the license plate of a Bentley in London, and 5134 would be the number of homeless left by a typhoon reported on by a screaming newspaper headline, and so on...

Glad to see you back around here, Campin Cat! :D

I've got a bit of a thing about always wanting to post something new as well. On the A-Z Of Cars thread I sometimes checked back over 30 or more pages, to verify whether something had been used before; same with The Bible A-Z, and now WP Members A-Z.

Repetition of words is inevitable though on The 5-Letter Word Game, and even more so with the 4 Letter version. The amazing thing about the former is that it lost about 80% of its posts in last November's revamp, but still runs to more than 1300 pages. The 6-Letter Word Game has a great deal of potential for new developments, I think.

I don't recall that one, but it sounds very similar to the currently active Obscure Facts Ya Know, which is an excellent thread.

Yeah, that's why I stopped playing the This or That game regularly as well.

Thanks, I really appreciate that. My sister died, and I've been struggling to get back in the swing of things.
