I and my family attended Pig Out At The Park, which is a food fest by various food services in booths set up in Spokane's Riverfront Park for lunch. Then we met my daughter's Godfather at Golden Coral for dinner and intellectual conversation. Ending the night, my wife and I consumed beer, and now I am happily drunk.
What did you do?

Worked 8 hours. Just another calendar day to me. Never celebrated it or observed it, although I miss watching Jerry Lewis, and haven't dropped any money into the boots since MDA gave him "the boot".

I'll tell you - - the Jerry Lewis Marathon has always left me with a negative impression. Oh, I absolutely know Lewis had done incredible good for people, but that's not why. Back when I was a kid, we'd come home from vacation on Labor Day... when the very next day would be the first day of school. And the only damn thing on TV would be that friggin' marathon! Essentially, as a kid, Labor Day for me - and Jerry Lewis - was one great big let down.
I suppose that's why I drink on this holiday.

It was 103 degrees outside so I stayed indoors with the AC and watched shows on AHC about Nazi Germany.

My daughter started school this year on September 2nd. At least she got Labor Day off, allowing her to have better memories of the day than I had.

According to my friend Maura that teaches kindergarten locally, most public schools in my area started August 18th this year. However I happened to notice kids in my neighbourhood wearing parochial school uniforms a week pryor to that. :study:

Our boy that goes to a special art school for gifted and tallented got to wait until September.

Drank beer and made pork eggrolls. All in all, a good day.

We stayed home. The buses probably didn't run.

I already posted what my feelings about Labour day are, so I think you can guess I wasn't very happy. When my mom picked me up for lunch the next day she asked if I was under the weather. I told her I was tired, which was true enough, but I didn't tell her I was crying and screaming for a while when I had gone to bed. :(

Bad things happen this time of year. I don't know why, but they do. Bad, horrible things that no one sees coming, both in the world and my personal life, that turn everything upside down...

I spend the day tidying our room up, then swimming in our pool. That's pretty much it.
