It's the 14th anniversary of 9/11. Where were you when everything unfolded that day?
I was in 2nd grade school in what I think was math. Soon after the morning announcements the announcer unexpectedly came on and in an odd horrified sounding voice said "please turn your TV's to channel 9." and that's when the scene of the burning buildings came up and soon after the towers started to collapse. I didn't realize what was happening or fully knew the true scale of it. The day wore on and some were thinking it was from a movie. When I got home my mom began to cry, and that's when I fully realized what happened that day. It was everywhere on the news for many months after.
I did not know there were also Anthrax attacks happening in my state the next week and the hijackers were living in it just a couple months before until years later.

I was in my new apartment for the first time, where I'm sorry to say I was only somewhat aware of what was happening as I was experiencing my own personal hell. And then the event added fuel to that personal hell for years to come.

I don't remember, I was only 7, in first grade, probably at school and then had to go home when it happened. I remember
when I actually first learned what it was though. It was Sep 11 of 2002 and I was watching TV when I saw a really long and detailed footage about it happening the year before, which I thought was strange since I didn't remember it happening.

No idea.
I saw it on the news, but it could have been news from two days ago...

I was at home, eating breakfast, and watching coverage while getting ready for school.

I was 11 that day.

I was home, and by that, I mean with my ex-husband who woke me up by saying I had to turn on the news in our bedroom. By the time I was getting ready for my first class at the state university I attended at the time, it was announced that all classes for the day were cancelled. As we lived down the street from that campus, I got to see the traffic getting heavy as most of those students didn't live in the dorms, but commuted to and from school daily. I also remember how quiet everything was after all planes were grounded, as we were right by the landing path for the local airport.

I was home on computer. I turned the TV on in the afternoon & was upset that news was on instead of the show I wanted to watch.

I would have been three. I don't remember it happening or learning about it, but I was most likely at daycare.

I woke up to my alarm clock radio w/ news of the attacks. I jumped out of bed and turned on the TV in time to see the 2nd plane hit live. It was surreal.

I went off to school, business school at BCIT, and pretty well no one was attending class.. we had a couple TV's on in The Great Hall & hundreds of students just stood there in silence watching in disbelief.

Now, I see September 11th as False Flag Propaganda day. The tragic loss of life was very real, but I don't believe for a second that it was some foreign terrorist group that did it. I believe it was the US gov't/CIA etc & that it was a false flag designed to get the American taxpayer to rally behind the US gov't & military industrial complex so they could take your money and go bomb the living s**t out of the Middle East for fun, power, and profits for all involved.

I have respect for the dead & rescue workers, of course, but for those who believe it was a foreign terrorist who did it.. I have pity. IMO, most Americans have been brainwashed by their gov't to believe this and support them. IMO, the truth is far too uncomfortable for most Americans to accept. It's for that very reason that if you believe the US gov't official explanation of 9/11 that you're likely angered by this post.

I was almost 4 years old, still living in western Washington. My mom had taken me to Bellevue, to my grandmother's house, because she had a doctor's appointment. Needless to say, with the attacks, I remember her getting a phone call saying that the appointment was cancelled due to the WTC/Pentagon attacks. I remember seeing NBC coverage of the attacks (afternoon, long after the towers fell) and seeing the replay of people running for their lives after the towers fell.
It wasn't until many years later that I saw the archived footage of the 2nd plane crash, and the towers falling. I've also acquired an 8-hour VHS full of CNN from 9/11. Keep in mind, Aaron Brown had started his first on-air day at CNN when the WTC was attacked. He was given a ton of awards for that! I will NEVER EVER THROW THIS TAPE AWAY. It is a piece of American history, and also world history as well.
I've also seen the jumpers, and they were shown on that day as well. Some of these people had no choice - die burning, or die jumping. Really, really hard to see.

I talked with two people at school who had some big stories to share from that day. One was a sub bus driver - he was on the police force, taking vacation leave and hunting in the mountains, when he got a phone call from the police department telling him about the WTC/Pentagon attacks. Needless to say, when plane traffic came back, he was straight off to Washington, DC.
The second person was a classmate whose uncle was in the Pentagon that day. He didn't die, thankfully. He was on the side that DIDN'T get hit. 8O I still believe in angels.

Yesterday, I observed EVERY moment of silence given. And I hope another 9/11-like attack NEVER happens again in America.

I have a surprising amount of memories from when I was a little less than 3 onward, and 9/11 is no exception, though I don't pretend I had any idea what was happening that day or that it affected me.

I was 4 and at my uncle's house, the last stop on a trip me and my siblings went on with my mom- it didn't matter that it was during the schoolyear because we were homeschooled. I remember the grown ups were all crowded around my uncle's flat screen TV that fascinated me because it was the biggest I had ever seen. I have one sort of freezeframe memory of the towers burning (likely a replay because it was later in the day), and that's it. That night I played with some toy trains by myself and the other kids watched Aladin. A few days later we were driving home and had to cross the George Washington bridge from New Jersey. I have various memories of the GWB being jammed with standstill traffic because we went that way a lot when coming back from visits to grandparents in NJ, so chances are I don't actually remember this specific time, but I can picture it like I do. According to my mom we were in that sort of traffic heading onto the island to get back to Connecticut, and my brother, sister and I were staring down the Hudson at the smoke that was still flowing away from ground zero.

My wife and I had just gotten married in June, and we were renting a small house from her cousin at that time. That morning, when the telephone woke us up, I had gotten out of bed to answer it, when my friend (who was also our best man), told me to turn on the news, because terrorists had flown a plane into the World Trade Center. Turning on the TV, I saw the image of the huge, blackish plume of smoke billowing from the gaping hole in the of the building. I recall just standing there, transfixed by the terrible image, unable to feel anything. Finally, I was able to pull myself away to tell my wife what had happened. She got out of bed to join me in the living room, when soon after, the image of the second plane flying into the building appeared on screen.

I was living in New York at that time. My friend called at 9AM to say a plane had hit the World Trade Center. I thought he was joking so I went back to bed. A few minutes later he told me it was real and to put the TV on; however, since I didn't have a TV at the time, I put on my clothes and walked to the nearest bar. Sure enough, there was the coverage on TV. I saw people jumping out of 65th floor windows. It seemed unbelievable and surreal. I could never forget that day.

had just gotten home from a late shift, awoke around 11-ish and went to the kitchen where my mom and dad stared transfixed at the tv set, I looked at what they were staring at when a new commotion indicated the 2nd plane hit.
