I've seen a few dud threads related to this before about one or the other, but I thought it might be a good idea to just have a thread dedicated to an explanation of why you've made your profile the way it is. This might be better suited as a sticky in the getting to know each other subforum actually, but I'll just leave it for here now, let me know mods if you care about the idea.
I'm quite proud of my username, before this one I've had a terrible streak of never being able to come up with a good name. It's inspired by an enchanted quill named the Feyfolken from the elder scrolls series. I didn't know what the book was about actually at first, I just thought the name always sounded cool. Here's a link to the wiki article on it
http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Feyfolken. My username is also inspired by JRR Tolkien, the author of the Middle Earth Legendarium as many of you probably already know. So I basically smashed the two words Feyfolken and Tolkien together.
My Avatar at the moment is Wander from Shadow of the Colossus. I like the game a lot, has a really good soundtrack, and that's about all their is to it.
My location is currently the first Dark Fortress of the Dark Lord Melkor in the First Age or it just says Alone on the Road, I'm not quite sure which one can actually be seen right now. Alone on the Road is because the book The Road by Cormac McCarthy, which I really like as well.
My late brother was a Tolkien expert. I enjoy your avatar and username quite a bit.
I am a sociologist in grad school. My last username that I locked myself out of was VAGraduateStudent. It would be more correct to say that I am a critical autism scholar, but the word "critical" sounds grumpy when you take it outside of the sociological meaning. So I settled for a broader name that reflected my general field.
I am using a picture of my face as I usually appear every day (in a nerd t-shirt, ponytail) because I didn't think people would trust me if I looked fake or if they couldn't see what I actually looked like. When people go to my survey link and take my survey they're trusting me to represent their words, maybe to the whole world. I take that very seriously. So I didn't want to play around with my username or avatar.
