Well yeah, hello, I'm new to this site. 100%. No stains. Fresh from the box. Not suitable for childs under the age of three years. Some assembly required.

Anyway, yeah, I'm just standing here (so to speak), wondering what to do. I'm hoping that this'll be a nice place to hang around, and that I'll be able to help people out (I have a knack for doing that). Oh and, yes, I have Asperger's. Thumbs up for that! I'm not sure if I should say anything else apart from this. If there is anything you want to know, then just say the word.

Oh, and one final thing: Anyone else here from New Zealand? Because I have the strangest feeling I'm the only one...

My name's Mark and I'm brand spankin' new to all of this. I'm 48 years old but I've only been an aspie for a few weeks now, not even officially diagnoised yet. Definitely a late bloomer. I got divorced a year ago and have been attempting on-line dating for the last couple of months and I'm pretty discouraged with it. It's just too hard, too much work, like socializing, LoL. However, I've just discovered this site and Aspie Affect. I've interacted a little with one young lady, JulieKitty, and one very young lady, Solidess, and have throughly enjoyed myself. I never imagined socializing could so much fun, so much not like work. It is so nice to just feel free to just be my weird self and to feel so accepted. Now I know what I want, I want an aspie-girl! Now if I could just find one remotly close to my age and within 500 mi. of Tallahassee. Aspie Affect girls, you must post a photo, or at least some profile details. I'm typically availible on-line evenings and weekends, and I'm looking forward to more e-socializing with aspies of all ages, sizes, shapes, colors and textures.

Yeah, my dad has all his records, and when I lined them all up and looked at them, he didn't look directly out at you, which was a big relief, to myself at least, that tends to bug me, and I found it very strange, and after reading this thread, yeah, that DOES make sense. After all, the lyrics 'Here in my car, I am safest of all, I can lock all my doors, there's no way in or out" are Aspie lyrics at their best!

Why are you here? I am pretty sure that I have Asperger's, though I'm not diagnosed.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): I was supposed to be tested a few months ago, but I blew it off. My school therapist told me he would contact me, and didn't. Such things I take as signs.

Favorite subjects: I'm a grad student in Computer Science, but I have a degree in Philosophy as well. I probably am most interested in History, especially military. I also am interested in Political Science, Mathematics, geeze the list just goes on. Whatever I don't have to be doing at the time.

Books: Mainly SF - Zelazny is probably my favorite. He manages to capture the fact that the world shifts quite well. Too bad most people don't see it doing so.
