I like the forums more, as I like having an avatar and signature. Plus, I don't get into fights here as much as I do in the IRC! And all my friends are here at the forums. ^^

Can a mod please delete the other two threads? I pressed submit three times.

I can't bear the whole IRC thing. I like to post, and force people to deal with my inanities (or at least look at them). On the chat, I just feel ignored.

I have been in the chat twice, I posted on the forums 6000+ times. I prefer forums :)

IRC is okay, but more poeple go to the forums. Also instant messages bore me.

I utilize both. I've grown quite attatched to the denizens of IRC.

I tend to be a little impatient, and instant communication helps ease that a bit.

Realtime chatting is too much like real life social situations. I like to talk to people I like in real life but it can be problematic and the more people the worst it gets.

My guess is most the people who claim to enjoy the chat room and have AS really like the chat room because they have specific common obsessive interests with the current
members. People who do not have those common interest will find they are not wanted in the chat room.

Well, obviously the people on the forums will vote forums .

I do sometimes really like chatting with people but it has to be 1 - 1 or at the most a threeway chat. Otherwise I get lost and frozen.

I've never been on the IRC chat, so...

The forums. Because I have time to decide whether or not to respond
and if I do respond I can plan what I'm going to say.

I used to go on chatrooms a lot, but find them too fast generally now, and it seems to take so much longer to get to know anyone there. I prefer chatting one to one on a messenger service, easier to form a bond with someone that way. Forums are great too, though there is a certain formality with them and they are not as good if you have something private you need help with or if you just want to share with one person in the immediate.

i like irc and the forums all the same.

i go on irc when i feel like talking to someone and no one else is home.

i typically say something totally out there and random and it gets their attention. either that or i wait until they talk about something that i'm interested in. it's not like talking to someone i don't know because there's no eye contact and i can't stutter my words.

I've been in it two or three times. It's too fast for me.
