With my dad & one of my brothers. Got up early to go be one of the first people in the door at Summit Tools to score deals on some new cordless power tools (DeWalt 20v XR brushless stuff) as my dad needed a new drywall screw gun and router, and I bought a 1/4" impact & drill combo kit w/ 2 batteries & a charger, and "oscillating multi-tool" ("Fein tool") and then some bits and odds and ends and a new heavy duty tool box. All in all, combined, we saved probably $600-700 off of full retail - which is a pretty good score & worth getting up in the morning for, IMO. Before we left there had to have been 200-300 people in the store, too.

Now I just have one extra 1/4" XR brushless impact gun to either sell to a coworker or return because I bought it before I realized there was a drill combo kit that basically included the brushless drill & a bag for $30 more than buying just the rest of it on sale prices.

We have a family member's friend connection we just learned of last night to score DeWalt stuff at just of good of deals almost any time, so, I'm thinking I'll probably figure out what else I need/want & then put in an order later in the year - or maybe not until I actually Need to buy a bunch more stuff.. but yeah, for now it was nice to score a few of the most useful pieces at rock bottom prices. 8) ...but now that it's started I know I'll be buying more tools and stuff every handful of months lol that's always the way these things go. :P

^^ It's a day here in Canada where the kids get packed into the boxes their xmas gifts came in the day before so the adults can have some peace and quiet.

December 26th. Pretty sure it began in England. Traditionally (generations ago) it was the day after Christmas when the wealthy boxed up their Christmas dinner leftovers and shared with their servants and poor people so they could enjoy a holiday meal, too. What it's evolved into in Canada is a shopping sales day - basically like Black Friday is in the USA, but without crazy drama and violence for the most part. Now there are so many sales and online sales, and black friday that's come to Canada the last couple years, that it's no longer quite the big event it was for some people 15+ years ago when they would lineup down the block or overnight waiting to buy some door crasher deal of stereo system or whatever. But it's still a busy busy sales day here and it got very busy at the tool store we went to, and then the WalMart parking lot was packed, too.

We have it in a lot of Commonwealth countries, including Australia and New Zealand. Here, it's mostly a huge shopping day (like Black Friday in the US), with a cricket test match thrown in. Parking at major shopping centres is an absolute nightmare. Thankfully I live within walking distance of the largest shopping centre in my city. Stuff trying to find a car park there on Boxing Day. :x

The sales are at least extending until the end of the weekend (or maybe even beyond) so I went shopping today and there wasn't much to be had. Just a wall rack of sale items in each shop and that's about it.

I bought some things online too, but even that was iffy; $5 and 10$ shirts that you still had to pay full shipping for, so you would've had to buy a cartful to make it worthwhile.

Obviously it depends on what you're shopping for.. we saved about $700, so it was totally worth it.
