Captcha just asked me to select all of the cookies. I did. It told me no. So I had to pick the crackers. It told me ok. Crackers are not cookies.

Crackers would be very sh***y cookies.

Yes, although they are both small, flat and wafer-like, cookies are usually a sweet food, while crackers are usually a salty food. Cookies are good in milk, but not crackers. Crackers are good in soup, but not cookies.

Mushy cookies in soup? Ew, I don't think even Cookie Monster would eat it.

Your reasoning is sound. I cannot dispute these irrefutable laws of disc-shaped foods. You are wise in the ways of the cookie...

^^Yeah, when it comes to food, I always seem to be. Especially foods the whole world tells us not to eat. :)

Maybe we could classify what cookies are and what crackers are based on how good they would taste in soup or milk?

I've pondered this one before (it must have something to do with presiding over snack time for years!). I think that when something that most people treat as a cookie is actually called a "cracker," it has something to do with the dry, crunchy texture. Still--if it tastes more sweet than salty, I consider it a cookie at its heart.

"...A cookie by any other name would still taste as yummy..." :? Well, maybe. I'll take chocolate chip over graham any day--unless you've got a campfire, marshmallows, and a Hersey's bar for me!

I have always thought animal crackers were cookies.

That would make graham crackers a cookie, for me. I could eat them plain with milk (although I think they're best with peanut butter).....or at least I used to eat them plain with milk (or with peanut butter), before I developed a gluten intolerance. I haven't tried the gluten-free kind yet because they're too expensive.

I think maybe graham crackers are some kind of hybrid/in-between category....a croockie?

That makes sense.
