Well, in the UK the self-serve (robot) tills have taken the place of ordinary tills (the ones with actual people behind them). They have made it so that customers have no option but to use the self-serve tills because they only open about one or two normal tills, or none at all. :( They have taken peoples' jobs.

That, and cutting back staff in delivery jobs so that they end up ringing your doorbell several times impatiently as staff are rushed to a target. It's completely unfair on them.

..Sigh. Don't mind me.

In the U.S. it is not unusual for pizza delivery people to be murdered and robbed. I wonder how the company would handle someone stealing pizzas from the robot. Maybe in the U.S. they the robot could pack some heat.

I'd save money by not leaving the driver a tip

Those new cars that have an oven in them will be replaced.

Easy, you shove him on the side as hard as you can. Metal meets floor. :P

Some people in the US would probably do that. Someone did break that hitch-hiking bot.

In Montreal, we get immigrants in waves. For example, when Haiti had a lot of trouble, all of a sudden all taxi drivers and all pizza delivery guys were Haitian (they speak French). The Haitians were at least benevolent. There was a batch of immigrants after that who were enraged. I haven't ordered a pizza since. I haven't met the Syrians yet.

I wonder at sending a robot to take a classic immigrant job. It's probably the only employment they can get for the first couple of years. Immigrants aren't taking our jobs, they're keeping the price down. Not my idea, not my fault.

But then again, if a robot would deliver, I might order another pizza.

What would the objection to a drone be?
