I dont know about you but I feel like putting my money on yellow jackets because they are more aggressive than bees even killer bees and can sting multiple times! Esspecially the southern yellowjacket who can have thousands of queens and make nests at large sizes! Just be thankful we don't have Asian giant hornets in the U.S. yet.

An allergic human stung by the giant hornet may die from an allergic reaction to the venom.

The venom contains a neurotoxin called mandaratoxin which can be lethal even to people who are not allergic if the dose is sufficient.

Killer bees aren't that much more aggressive or venomous than European bees, they just tend to attack in swarms.

The bigger ones seem more easy going, unless you mess with their nest. The ones that have the worst disposition seem to be yellow jackets. They show up and try and get in the drinks and food.Heaven help you if the lawn mower hits a nest.

what would you do if you saw those nasty big hummers like in the picture, fly towards you? I'd dash indoors until they were gone.

(good god...they've got stingers like harpoons)

i wonder, though, how those giant things are able to fly in the first place? the sound they make must be horrendous.

I imagine they might sound like hummingbirds.

I'm used to dealing with large insect pests.Just look at the size of this cabbage moth,it thought it would gain access to the greenhouse but I fixed it's little red wagon.

When I managed to catch and donate a bee to the museum in Animal Crossing for Gamecube, Blathers told me that bees can survive temperatures that are slightly higher than that of wasps, one of their natural enemies, and if a wasp invades their hive one the ways they kill it is by covering its body and increasing the heat with their bodies so that it's enough to kill the wasp but they survive. So I guess killer bees could kill off wasps just by doing that, swarming all over until they die. Who says video games aren't educational? :)

I think it's amusing and weird when other people refer to wasps as yellowjackets. Where I live most people wouldn't even know what that is, even though we have them they're just called wasps and I know there are other breeds around here but you see them as much or people don't think they're wasps at all because they aren't yellow and stripey.

it would surely be nice if some scientist bred some experimental high-production honeybees sans stingers.
