Now I have seen a few on here. I thought I saw a 25 Bravo or signal communications guy on here. Well anyways I want to hear your stories how autism made it difficult and if certain NCOs singled you out because of your behavior. This was before I knew anything about autism but I knew it caused the issue. This problem happened in basic and a few times in front of hard headed sgt majors. My Drill Sgt loved to smoke me. This is refering to correct of action through physical training. Now he needed a reason but all he had to do is look at me. I shifted my eyes away. I was fine when he didnt look or was talking to everybody. But he found this trait quick and did it over and over and over again. I guess maybe he thought if he smoked the crap out of me it would fix it. My second week there I also had a melt down during uniform change drills. This is where they make you change in and out of your Normal acu uniform to physcial training clothes. They gave you less then 30 seconds to do it and I was in my 10th cycle of it and smoking did happen between everytime. This went on for a hour and my zipper broke. I flipped a lid and that drill sgt wanted me to come at him. To be honest that was the only thing that snapped me back. Well I am kind of curious if there is any similar incidents. Of course I had other issues showing up at the wrong place or my peers telling me that we were released while I was packing up a conex and we werent. Yeah it sucked. Lots of smoking yelling at my face that I am a ret*d that shouldnt be born that kinda crap.

For what I have heard, if you are diagnosed you aren't suitable to serve.

I served before I was diagnosed. I was singled out by the officers and NCOs only because I got the job done. Otherwise, everyone ignored me.

Same. If I weren't autistic, I probably would've enlisted by now.

Getting the job done at Fort Riley wasn't enough. You had to be liked and was full of politics. Leadership lacked and nobody cared about anybody else but thenselves. For all you that feel bad about not joining. Well you arnt missing out the wars we were or are currently in are not right. Iraq was a complete waste of recources time and was a mis guided mission of freeing the people when now the kurds are trying to keep isis out of the northern territory. Yeah we sure did accomplish freedom there now people are getting heads cut off in bahgdad. Afganhistan is a dead country that will never change for anybody. They dont want to. Just look at the 80s when the russians envaded. That was there Vietnam. Guess who armed the taliban we did. We trained them gave them stinger missles to stop them. Sounds like Syria today except that is a crazy complicated war. So dont feel bad about not be able to join. All you know is you would be picking up cigerate butts in the parking lot for 3 hours or go on the crapiest details like I did. Or you might go to a good duty station and love your unit. Plus I was tormented and hazed. That changed when I tried to stab a guy with a pen. But hey I let my nco know 3 times every week nothing changed and he didnt do a damn thing. And now I understand why so many murders and suicides happen. You are not missing out.

Disgusting. If you were treated that way anywhere else they'd have the idiot arrested. This is just another reason why I hate war.

Dude, it's the military. If the worst you get while serving is a raw deal from the political bullsnot and a few loud insults thrown your way, consider yourself lucky. Some who survive combat come back without arms or legs - if they survive at all.

Complainers are trouble. They demoralize the unit and distract the leadership from doing their jobs. It's best to weed them out early in boot camp, rather than send them out to the field where they're likely to do nothing but whine and complain about the noise, the dirt, the smell, and the bullets flying their way - if they don't desert first, and leave a hole in the line from where their comrades were expecting cover fire and combat support.

Send them home to their mommies, and let the real soldiers have a better chance of surviving and winning the war.
