More About Australia (MODERATOR: PLEASE READ)

This was really meant to be a new post in the " Should we invade Australia ? " line but I see now , I , once again ! clicked on the wrong button , instead for a new post . I just CAN'T re-write it , especially with my already-aching right arm & elbow (Am I tempting Carpal Tunnel Syndrome ? ) ~ please , Ye Mod , can you just insert this into the " Invade Australia ? ..." line ?

...As far as rural parts of AU I remember , some years ago , in an " early Sunday " edition of the San Francisco Chronicle that had lots of feature/non-topical news stories rather than Saturday's news inside the news section , there was a story profiling a resident of an Outback area/his world which (Perhaps this might seem to show , to Aussies , the vision of Oz the American press promotes ? I don't know , perhaps an Austrlian paper/reporter/at least an Au division of a US/Brit one originated it .):
It profiled a young , twentysomething I guess Aussie man in a rural area ~ It mentioned him having a bumper sticker on his SUV/pick-up truck of " YOU'LL FIND ME AT A B&S BALL " (Bachelors & Spinsters Ball - a singles dance/getogether , retaining the old-fashioned name) , it described him , going to the dance/party , two steak sandwiches were part of the admission ~ I don't know if the booze was included , probably not?? , & lots of males drinking til' they threw up .
It described rather falling populations/people moving away from outback areas , especially females?? , making males there have a hard time finding wives , IIRC .
The guy profiled said something like " Those women (maybe he didn't actually say " shelias " !) in the cities don't know how good they have it " - Actually , maybe that's not that dissimilar from many rural areas of the USA losing population .
Anyway , this piece is what I remember reading , if you don't like it/find it stereotypical don't blame me , I'm just reporing here !

Hmm cobber, not sure if we really need to move this: no-one's invading Australia AFAIK...

None of the pother mods have, so they must be OK with it. (not about Wrongplanetopia invading Australia however...)
