So I found this ebay ad when looking for shelving for my vinyl records...:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vinyl-Record-Storage-/141920064157?hash=item210b18529d:g:nO4AAOxynapRgrFO

It looks like a normal crate to me, and they're selling it for 40 dollars if you include the shipping.... I still can't stop laughing.

I'm seeing $16.25. Am I missing something?

The shipping is 18 dollars, which brings it to close to 40 dollars.

$16.25 + $14.95 = $31.20

However you are doing it, your rounding that wrong, math and numbers don't work that way.

Also I find it humorous but ebay is a good place to find some odd stuff so I am not surprised.

I am feeling musical so I am going to express my point in a song,

I've been looking up "bootleg toys" on ebay just for fun lately, and they have some really weird, creepy, and hilarious-looking stuff. A lot of them are from Mexico. I feel bad for the kids whose parents bought them such junky toys. There are also these Ninja Turtle knockoffs that are so sloppily-painted they look horrifying. Especially their teeth. And for some reason they have pentagrams on top of their heads! 8O

Being honest, quite a few sellers on ebay have no idea what they are doing or what they are selling. I collect certain things and I have brought some dirt cheap and they have been worth a fair bit more. Some people also think that old = valuable. I cannot express my disdain for this opinion of people. It is wrong, wrong, wrong. Roman coins can be bought for a few pounds, or at least the common ones can be, however if you want a 1951 penny you are going to find yourself shelling out upwards of £30 most of the time, and it's about 2000 years younger. Value is influenced a lot by scarcity. If a particular Roman coin is really common it'll go for a few pounds or less, but if they made a super rare coin this year it'd cost a heck of a lot more.

I've seen those piled up in the alley behind grocery stores. They are used to ship 4 or 8, 1 Gallon milk containers and are then returned to the dairy. Back in the nineties, some of my DJ friends would steal them because they fit 12" records so well.
