Is this line "it's not what good girls do. Not how they should behave." homophobic?

Closer to facetious or sarcastic, from the POV of the protagonist of the song. Sort of like saying, "Not what good Catholic girls would do". The song was originally sung by (& I think written by, not sure) Jill Sobule, who is bi, in the mid 1990's.

Katy Perry also was a Christian singer before becoming a pop star I believe, raised in a very religious family

I know a drag queen named Katy Hairy. "She" kisses boys and likes it. True story.

I'm convinced her song, 'Wide Awake' was actually her reflections on her prior lifestyle choice / childhood. Sooo many symbolic references. Give a listen with that in mind:

I think it's quoting what other people have said.

Also, the song is about someone kissing someone as an experiment with no intention of dating them (probably), which might be seen as a bad thing to do. The other girl may have not even been okay with it.

This is Jill Souble's song. Love hers & Katy Perry's one

something funny about this song, in high school on the coach that took us to school (while i was being relentlessly harassed by one of the schools bullies, god he was aweful on these coach rides, but in the year above me to i didn't get any classes with him), this was the coach drivers favorite song to play, i always thought it was a dude singing it (id never heard of katy perry)

'Nother funny story, back when the song first came out in the 1990's S.F. Bay Area morning radio personality Alex Bennett had Jill Sobule on his show to sing it live. Despite being the morning show host for an "alternative" radio station at the time (Live 105 for those who lived there & remember it), he was sort of the ultimate "get off my lawn" grumpy old guy. So before she sang what was for her at the time her big song & one that was being celebrated for being so out (!), he requested/forced her to instead sing it as, ..."I kissed a squirrel".

@goldfish21? Love the pics, thanks! ;)
